Position Overview Chicago Fire Football Club is seeking a highly motivated Matchday Communications Assistant to join our communications team for select first and second team matchdays. This pivotal role will involve coordinating media operations at different venues under the direction of the Sporting Communications Manager, managing the press box, interview transcription, stat-keeping, and other duties as required by the sporting communications team.

Job Responsibilities:

Press box management: Welcoming media members to press boxes at Soldier Field and second team venues, coordinating press box dining, providing information such as statistics to media members upon request, and troubleshooting technology needs
Transcription: Recording and transcribing coach and player quotes to be used as media assets by the first and second teams
Stat-keeping: Serving as a communication liaison between Major League Soccer or MLS NEXT Pro and a third-party sports analytics platform, as well as spotting and keeping statistics in match if needed
Leading media operations at Chicago Fire FC II matches
Other Duties: Provide additional support to the staff as needed

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience in sports communications at the international, professional, academy, or collegiate level
Knowledge of soccer required
Excellent troubleshooting skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) and Google Drive
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail
Ability to work independently but also in a team collaborative environment
Willingness and ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while collaborating effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders.
Resilient, with the ability to handle adversity and challenge in a positive way
Ability to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, including all home games (or other work events) that fall on nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

Conversational fluency in Spanish preferred

Compensation:

This role offers an hourly rate of $16.20

This role is classified as Part-time, non-exempt
