Position: Temporary Marketing Manager (Contractor)
Location: The Ritz Theater, Sanford, FL
Contract Duration: 6–8 months (32 hours per week)
Compensation: $21,333 for an 8-month contract or $16,000 for a 6-month contract (prorated based on final contract length)
Position Overview:
The Ritz Theater is seeking a Temporary Marketing Manager to lead and refine our marketing efforts during a 6–8 month transition period while we develop our internal Social Media Specialist for the permanent Marketing Manager role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing short-term marketing strategies while also laying a structured, scalable foundation for our Social Media Specialist to step into upon completing his training. This role requires expertise in performing arts marketing, audience engagement, digital advertising, sponsorship acquisition, and team mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution:
Develop and execute an interim marketing plan in alignment with the Ritz Theater’s strategic objectives.
Plan and oversee promotional campaigns for upcoming productions, events, and community initiatives.
Ensure consistent brand messaging across all platforms, including social media, email marketing, and website content.
Optimize marketing budget and ad spend to maximize return on investment (ROI).
Leverage data-driven insights to improve audience engagement and ticket sales.
Audience Development & Engagement:
Implement strategies to expand audience demographics, particularly engaging younger and more diverse patrons.
Conduct audience research & analysis to refine marketing strategies and programming outreach.
Develop partnerships with local businesses, schools, and community organizations to enhance engagement.
Digital Marketing & Social Media Leadership:
Oversee and refine social media strategy, ensuring alignment with industry trends and audience behavior.
Work with our Social Media Specialist to enhance content creation, ad targeting, and organic growth.
Optimize email marketing efforts via Constant Contact to increase conversions and retention.
Oversee website content updates via WordPress and coordinate SEO efforts to enhance visibility.
Sponsorship & Fundraising Support:
Assist in securing corporate sponsorships and community partnerships.
Develop compelling marketing materials for fundraising campaigns and donor engagement.
Align marketing efforts with grant-funded initiatives and strategic sponsorship goals.
Mentorship & Collaboration with our Social Media Specialist (Marketing Manager in Training):
Month 1-2:
Conduct weekly one-on-one mentorship sessions with our Social Media Specialist to build foundational marketing knowledge.
Assign our Social Media Specialist leadership tasks in social media, email marketing, and campaign execution.
Provide training on marketing analytics, budgeting, and performance tracking.
Month 3-4:
Allow our Social Media Specialist to co-lead a major campaign with guidance and oversight.
Provide feedback on strategic decision-making and audience engagement tactics.
Assist our Social Media Specialist in refining leadership skills in team collaboration and task delegation.
Month 5-6:
Transition our Social Media Specialist into leading full-scale marketing operations.
Ensure all marketing processes and workflows are documented and scalable for our Social Media Specialist’s transition.
Conduct a final leadership and strategy assessment to confirm our Social Media Specialist’s readiness.
Reporting & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Provide monthly performance reports on marketing campaigns, audience reach, and revenue impact.
Track ROI on digital advertising and promotional strategies.
Ensure completion of mentorship milestones with our Social Media Specialist and provide assessments on his progress.
Present a final marketing transition report summarizing achievements and recommendations for our Social Media Specialist’s leadership.
Qualifications:
5+ years of marketing experience, preferably in the performing arts, entertainment, or nonprofit sectors.
Proven expertise in digital marketing, branding, audience development, and content strategy.
Experience in mentorship, leadership development, or training junior team members.
Strong knowledge of Google Analytics, Constant Contact, WordPress, Canva Pro, and social media platforms.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with leadership, volunteers, and the marketing team.
