Book Promoter (Active)
We are seeking a creative and driven Book Promoter to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with authors and Flatpage staff to design and execute marketing strategies that amplify book sales, build author brands, and enhance Flatpage’s presence in the publishing world. This is a fully remote, contract-based position with a flexible schedule, offering the opportunity to make a direct impact on the success of our authors and platform.
Key Responsibilities
Author and Book Marketing
Collaborate with Flatpage authors to develop tailored marketing plans for their books.
Create engaging promotional content, including press releases, newsletters, blog posts, and social media campaigns.
Leverage Flatpage’s tools to optimize book visibility and sales performance.
Digital and Social Media Marketing
Work with the Marketing Manager to manage social media accounts, focusing on audience engagement and growth.
Develop and execute paid ad campaigns across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Amazon.
Implement SEO strategies to enhance discoverability for authors and their books.
Community Engagement
Build relationships with book bloggers, reviewers, influencers, and media outlets to boost Flatpage publications.
Support authors in engaging with their audience through virtual events, live Q&As, podcasts, and interactive book discussions.
Partner with libraries, book clubs, and independent bookstores to promote Flatpage titles.
Event Coordination
Organize book launches and promotional events (both in-person and virtual).
Guide authors in hosting events using Flatpage’s platform.
Collaborate with the Flatpage team to showcase author achievements through webinars and newsletters.
Analytics and Optimization
Use Flatpage’s data tools to monitor campaign performance and refine strategies for maximum impact.
Prepare performance reports for authors and the team, highlighting successes and opportunities for growth.
Stay informed on market trends to identify new promotional opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field.
Proven experience in marketing, preferably within the publishing industry.
Expertise in digital marketing, including social media management, email marketing, and SEO.
Strong communication and storytelling abilities to effectively promote books and authors.
Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Proficiency in tools such as Google Analytics, Canva, and email marketing software.
Passion for books and familiarity with publishing trends, especially in digital-first platforms.
Preferred Experience
Knowledge of traditional and self-publishing tools and processes.
Success in running book marketing campaigns.
Experience building audiences for debut or indie authors.
Familiarity with author branding strategies.
Hours and Compensation
This is a fully remote, flexible contract position requiring variable hours based on project volume and need. Compensation will depend on experience and will be discussed during our initial interview.
