Role Overview:
As a Category Manager at noon, you will own the P&L for your category across the UAE and KSA, driving growth and profitability. You will lead a team of direct reports (such as Account Managers and Business Development Executives) to effectively manage marketplace sellers and our retail buying activities. Your role will involve optimizing the mix of marketplace and retail business models, driving product assortment, pricing strategies, marketing initiatives and vendor relationships. You will foster collaboration across teams and leverage data-driven insights to enhance performance and achieve business objectives.
What you’ll do:
P&L Management:
Manage and grow the profitability of the category across UAE and KSA.
Develop and execute strategies to achieve financial targets and improve category performance.
Seller and Partner Management:
Manage and grow relationships with existing marketplace sellers.
Identify, onboard, and nurture new sellers to expand category offerings.
Balance marketplace and retail business models effectively.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of 1–3 direct reports, ensuring consistent improvement in KPIs.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
Business Growth and Innovation:
Develop and implement original, data-driven strategies to grow the business.
Generate and execute innovative ideas to improve sales, profitability, and customer experience.
Operational Excellence:
Monitor and enhance key business metrics, including assortment, in-stock levels, unit conversion rates, inventory levels, promotional ROI, and price competitiveness.
Forecast sales and set targets, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
Use data to analyze problems, identify solutions, and make informed decisions.
Prioritize tasks to maximize business impact and team efficiency.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work cross-functionally with other teams, sharing resources and knowledge to achieve common goals.
Escalate issues when needed to ensure timely resolution.
Adaptability and Learning:
Stay updated on tech and system improvements, quickly adapting to new tools and processes.
Train and guide the team on using updated systems efficiently.
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
7+ years of experience in category management, e-commerce or product management.
Strong understanding of marketplace and retail business models.
Experience in negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
Excellent leadership skills with experience managing a team.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
Exceptional organizational and prioritization abilities.
Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Arabic language is a strong plus.
Ability to innovate, think strategically, and execute plans effectively.
