Job Description
Spencer Stuart is in the midst of an exciting search for a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for a fast-growing apparel brand based in LA.
To achieve growth objectives of ultimately doubling the business in size, the founders have identified the need to hire a new CMO who will ignite growth across wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels. The new CMO will be responsible for creating demand and driving revenue through the ownership of marketing, sales and eCommerce. The mandate for the new CMO is clear – articulate and execute a marketing and sales plan that drives significant brand awareness, delivers customer acquisition and conversion, and ultimately leads to profitable revenue growth.
The new CMO is a brand-focused commercial leader who has a track-record impact. The ideal candidate combines large-scale training and discipline with experience delivering growth within emerging brands. Stylistically, this leader is dynamic, positive, and inspirational; they are comfortable operating with speed, agility, and flexibility.
Ideal Experience:
15+ years of progressive marketing experience working in omnichannel businesses; brings a mix of both wholesale and DTC sales channel experience.
Track record of driving growth, ideally at businesses under $500M.
Apparel experience is preferred; open to best-in-class consumer facing/CPG backgrounds.
Experience working with disruptive, innovative businesses and ‘challenger’ brands.
Comfortable operating in a nimble/agile environment and with limited resources/small teams. Working with founders is also ideal.
This business is based in LA; the ideal candidate will work/live in LA and/or have a committed commute (4+ days in the office).
