Join our team at Visit Ventura as a Destination Content Specialist, where you’ll play a key role in showcasing Ventura as a must-visit destination. This position focuses on content creation, social media management, digital marketing, and public relations. We’re looking for a creative storyteller with strong marketing skills who can craft compelling visuals, engage online audiences, and drive tourism growth through innovative digital strategies. Qualifications & Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Expertise in SEO best practices, web analytics, and social media strategy.
Proficiency in major social platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Pinterest) and emerging trends.
Strong organizational, analytical, and detail-oriented mindset.
Self-motivated with excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms.
Knowledge of digital marketing trends, public relations, and online communications.
Excellent copywriting, editing, and proofreading abilities.
Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of related experience preferred.
1+ years of experience in digital marketing campaign analysis required.
Proficiency in Google Suite, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media/e-marketing tools.
Experience in Final Cut Pro, photography, and graphic design (Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator).
Knowledge of Ventura’s tourism assets is a plus.
Occasional long hours, weekends, and travel required.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Social Media:

Create and edit engaging videos, photos, and graphics for digital platforms.
Develop and implement annual and monthly social media strategies.
Manage and post content across all social channels, including YouTube videos.
Engage with audiences, respond to comments, and manage brand voice.
Collaborate with tourism partners on contests, giveaways, and promotions.
Monitor industry trends and recommend creative strategies.
Build relationships with influencers and track destination reviews.
Manage paid social boosts and track performance metrics.

Website & Digital Marketing:

Oversee website updates, ensuring accurate and engaging content.
Maintain the event calendar and content management system (WordPress).
Develop digital marketing materials and advertisements.
Create and manage email newsletters for various audiences.
Track and update local business and attraction listings.
Contribute to external platforms such as Visit California and TripAdvisor.
Maintain an organized photography library for media use.

Public Relations & Editorial Support:

Assist media professionals and travel writers in promoting Ventura.
Support content creation for press materials and promotional handouts.
Contribute to visitor guides, brochures, and editorial content.
Represent Visit Ventura at community events and partnership meetings.

Reporting & Strategy:

Develop easy-to-read board reports on digital marketing KPIs.
Analyze and report on social media and SEO performance.
Research and track ROI for digital marketing efforts.
Assist with special projects and marketing initiatives as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $69,000.00 per year
