About The RoleWe’re seeking an experienced Communications and Brand Engagement Manager who has a proven track record in providing leadership and strategic direction for communications and brand functions. The role includes:
Leading the business-wide communication, brand and marketing strategy, both internally and externally.
Enhancing LIC’s profile through effective stakeholder engagement, brand content, reputation and relationship management.
Supporting excellent internal culture and communications, bringing to life our strategy and values to all our people and keeping them informed and engaged.
Partnering closely with the business, including the executive team, to provide advice and guidance.
Leading and developing a high performing team.
As a part of the Customer Experience team, you report to the Head of Customer Experience.
This is a pivotal role at LIC, which has the support of the business and senior leaders, who understand the value the communications and brand engagement function brings to LIC. The team you will lead are genuinely passionate about telling LIC’s story and a great bunch of people.

About You
As a seasoned Communications and Marketing professional, you’ll have experience supporting and informing at an executive level, as well as building strong collaborative relationships throughout the organisation. You’ll easily develop effective networks and relationships with key stakeholders, including media and agencies, and leverage from these relationships to magnify LIC’s voice.
To ensure your success, you will demonstrate:
Senior-level strategic Communications, Brand and Marketing experience
Proven experience advising and influencing at an exec level
Strong networking capability, exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Proven track record in leading effective communication strategies
Proven experience in developing and implementing customer-focused marketing plans and brand strategies, ensuring integration and consistency across all customer touchpoints
A track record of leading the communications response to navigate media issues, crisis communications, and risk management
Experience in identifying opportunities for strategic advantage by being informed about broader political and sector-wide landscape
Experience managing and overseeing brand content and marketing campaigns
A strategic mind-set and ability to consider long-term and broader implications
Proven leadership skills with the ability to achieve success through others
Experience in contract management and managing budgets
A sharp commercial acumen with deep knowledge of Marketing and Communications best practice
Experience within primary industries would be advantageous
