COMMUNICATIONS PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Position Description
As a Communications Program Coordinator with the West Virginia Office of Energy, you will play a key role in generating and distributing critical information about ongoing projects and programs, producing educational materials for the general public, and assisting in the development and implementation of other communication assets under the direction of the Communications Manager.
Essential Duties
● Develop, coordinate, produce, and maintain a range of communication materials, including brochures, flyers, infographics, social media graphics, and more
● Keep abreast of all funding, programs, and initiatives facilitated through the West Virginia Office of Energy and create supplemental photo and video assets to support these efforts
● Build relationships and participate in cooperative efforts with internal and external stakeholders to enable the successful delivery of communication plans
● Establish and maintain all digital assets in an organized filing system to ensure easy accessibility for the team
● Serve as an internal point of contact for general information requests
Required Qualifications
● Experience in planning and prioritizing multiple and competing tasks/projects effectively, meeting deadlines, and working independently and/or with a team in a fast-paced environment
● Demonstrated proficiency with different multimedia platforms and applications (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva, Google Drive, etc.)
● Firm understanding of design principles and theory
● Ability to think strategically about the needs of the office and its stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
● Firm understanding of photo/video production and editing to see a project to completion
● Experience managing and growing social media accounts for an organization or group
● Prior experience with field production (e.g., scheduling, interviews, directing, and overseeing vision of the project)
Education
● Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
