BUNDA – Director of Marketing

Overview

The Director of Marketing at Bunda will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans that align with the company’s business objectives and growth targets. This role involves overseeing all marketing activities, including digital marketing, social media, content creation, public relations, and promotional events. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams, franchisees, and external partners to ensure cohesive and effective marketing efforts.

Objective

To lead, develop and help execute comprehensive marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue growth for the fitness franchisor. The Director of Marketing will leverage market insights, digital marketing, and innovative campaigns to position the brand as a leader in the fitness industry, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement across all franchise locations.

The Marketing Director serves to uphold, represent, and promote the Bunda franchise in accordance with the Bunda brand. This position requires a roll up your sleeves type of person that will currently report to the COO and oversee the company’s Marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

● Manage, organize, direct, and deliver all marketing, media, and public relations strategies to support the overall vision and success of the organization

● Develop, manage and make recommendations concerning marketing spend and annual budgeting allocation for local advertising, co-op, and hyper local marketing campaigns, and provide required updates/reports to the Senior Leadership Team as requested

● Identify, advise and make recommendations to the COO on critical market opportunities, competitive challenges, and associated marketing tactics to drive new member joins, maximize Journey memberships, and minimize member cancellations

● Develop and maintain regular reporting cadence for Marketing KPIs and produce regular marketing reports and analysis around member join trends, marketing spends, member acquisition costs, and campaign return on investment (CROI)

● Increase traffic both physically and digitally to drive new member joins and increase membership retention

● Manage the quality and volume of paid media. This applies to our corporate studios, Presales studios, and franchise studios

● Manage EMMA Email Marketing correspondence for the owned and operated studios

● Proactively manage internal communications such as newsletters, company-wide updates, and a consistent internal/external brand image

● Develop a marketing playbook outlining strategies for different stages of a studio’s lifecycle (pre-launch, growth, maturity)

● Create, develop and build out company-wide execution guides (Corporate and Franchisee) as it pertains to events, promotions, challenges and any other marketing adjacent categories

● Work closely with the operations and finance teams to keep the company on track and on budget

● Build and maintain strong relationships with Bunda Corporate and the Franchise Partner marketing teams to be a trusted leader and expert across the Bunda system and uphold and maintain compliance with Bunda brand standards

● Provide franchisees with ongoing marketing guidance, best practices, and access to creative assets

● Oversee, develop, train, and empower the Marketing team to continually develop new skills, high quality work, and added responsibility that leads to execution of deliverables

● Implement local marketing plans to drive community awareness in preparation of new club openings, pre-sale activity, renovations, and overall community presence and member appreciation

● Implement local marketing plans to drive new leads and create location awareness

● Perform all other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications & Requirements:

● Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred)

● Proven experience in a senior marketing role, preferably within the fitness or franchising industry

● Strong leadership and team management skills

● Expertise in digital marketing, including SEO, SEM, social media, and email marketing

● Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

● Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Experience:

Minimum 5+ years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the fitness, wellness, or franchise industry.
Proven success in membership-based marketing and multi-location brand management.

Skills:

Strong understanding of Canva, Photoshop, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok
Expertise in digital marketing platforms (Meta, Google Ads, email automation, CRM tools).
Strong understanding of local marketing strategies for corporate and franchise studios.
Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
Creative mindset with the ability to balance big-picture strategy with hands-on execution.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
