City Market Co-Op is seeking a Communications &Media Manager, who reports to the Director of Community, responsible for oversight of City Market’s online content, newsletters, social media channels and strategy. This position oversees the Co-op’s engagement with our community in a consistent and appropriate voice through oversight and management of all owned and paid media channels including our website, social media, newsletters, blog, press releases and other customer facing outlets. The Manager is responsible for maintaining a consistent online presence for the organization and creating content while continuously working to elevate our brand.

Day to day responsibilities include:

Use videography and photography to engage and grow our Co-op community with support from Creative team.
Develop annual media plan and budget for web, social, and newsletter content and work closely with the Director with external media partners.
Work closely with Director to design and implement digital marketing strategy for the organization.
Design and execute e-mail marketing strategy with the overall goal of growing our shopper and membership base.
Manage City Market’s social media presence with informative and appealing content. Coordinate content and appropriate timing for posts on social media, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Work with department managers, buyers, and Purchasing team to promote internal sales and seasonal items.
Ensure consistency of tone, ‘voice’ and messaging throughout all content.
Coordinate specific press releases with Director.
Work with Director to align internal programming.
Maintain web content for City Market external and internal website, media channels, and newsletters (including, but not limited to: new stories, recipes, events, calendar items, web banners, daily deals, weekly winners, Co-op Deals, etc.).
Responsible for keeping abreast of marketing and promotional trends for our region and for our industry, as well as trends for websites, customer communication, social media and related areas and working to integrate these trends as appropriate.
Work with Marketing team to optimize web content for search engine optimization (SEO). Plan and develop SEO content and track SEO effectiveness across major search engines.
Create content for internal and external advertising with support from Creative team.
Requirements:
Minimum five years of media, marketing, or content-creation experience required.
Social media management experience required
Familiarity with Klaviyo, CRM platforms, and website templates.
Proficiency with digital photography and videography software and equipment required.
Proficiency working with Adobe Creative Suite required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Strong written and communication skills with proven experience in content creation.
Familiarity with digital content management systems, website design, and e-mail marketing platforms required.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, design, business administration or writing preferred.
Familiarity with SEO best practices preferred.
Knowledge of natural and conventional foods and the food industry preferred.
