JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to design, develop, administer, and support enterprise communications and other systems as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Administers enterprise communications system; configures and supports applications; programs desktop telephones, route points and plans, gateways, device profiles, backup devices, and dial plans; develops, codes, and supports VoIP applications and call control scripts; and administers voicemail system including unified messaging and directory handler configuration and maintenance.

Manages communications system servers; troubleshoots problems and provides solutions; escalates issues to next tier support; deploys and manages patches, updates and upgrades; develops and implements technical architecture; installs and configures voice gateways; analyzes existing voice and data networks; and recommends solutions.

Administers telephony systems; maintains telephone hardware and software; coordinates service installations with carriers; tests services; processes moves, adds, changes, and disconnects; reserves and assigns numbers and ports numbers; maintains inventory of phone systems, call accounting, phones, and related items; and assists in maintaining and operating telephone, data and wireless networks, and related equipment.

Manages the organization’s cellular services with vendor; installs, manages, and troubleshoots network signal boosters.

Develops and executes deployment and installation plans for infrastructure and wireless network software applications; receives and evaluates project requests for mobile requirements; recommends solutions balancing device connectivity, security, management, durability, and functionality; maintains and administers mobile device management and security infrastructure platforms; and maintains mobile device hardware certification, operating system imaging, testing and certification, inventory, software distribution, policy compliance, and related services.

Provides support for call tracking software application; designs and configures escalation rules, Service Level Agreement adherence, and workflow processes; generates related reports; identifies trends; monitors key performance indicators; and integrates with other applications and software.

Provides technical support and develops training materials for assigned technologies and systems; troubleshoots, maintains, upgrades, and provides solutions to complex hardware/software problems; ensures compliance with established policies and procedures; conducts training sessions with user departments as required; and supports, maintains, updates and document services documentation.

Performs related duties; assists with report generation; manages telecommunications projects; and participates in developing and maintaining contingency and disaster recovery plans including resumption planning, testing, and updates.

Processes a variety of documentation associated with Department/Division operations within designated timeframes and per established procedures; receives and reviews various documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of Department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.

Performs other assigned duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

Associates Degree in Information Technology, Systems Administration, Telecommunications Management, or a related field; three (3) years of related work experience in telecommunications systems administration; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

Must maintain a valid GA Driver’s License.

Preferred: A+, Network+, Server+, CISCO, MS Certified Expert

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as medium work involving lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. If someone can do medium work, then he or she can also do sedentary and light work.

Tasks may involve some pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight; some tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

This position is required to be available 24/7.
