About the role

NextWave Partners are supporting a leading international renewable energy developer to expand their team in Thailand. They are putting together the core members of their team and are looking to hire a Country Manager.The Country Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s operations in Thailand. This includes managing day-to-day operations, driving business goals, ensuring financial success, and fostering collaboration across multiple teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations & maintenance (O&M) and significant experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

Manage and oversee daily operations of the Thailand office to ensure smooth execution of projects and initiatives.

Establish and maintain robust processes to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with local regulations.

P&L Management:

Take full accountability for the Profit & Loss (P&L) of the Thailand operations.

Develop and implement strategies to achieve financial targets and drive sustainable growth.

Team Collaboration & Leadership:

Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, including project development, engineering, O&M, and business development, to achieve company goals.

Promote a culture of collaboration and innovation, ensuring seamless communication and coordination among teams.

Project Oversight:

Oversee the development and execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

Provide technical and strategic input during the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies to post-construction O&M.

O&M Expertise:

Ensure optimal performance of assets by implementing industry-leading O&M practices.

Monitor and analyze asset performance, addressing any issues promptly to maximize energy output and reliability.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government authorities, local communities, investors, and partners.

Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings in Thailand and the region.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all local laws, regulations, and standards related to renewable energy development and operations.

Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities in the Thai renewable energy sector.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Proven track record in managing utility-scale renewable energy projects, including experience in O&M.

Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L and driving business performance.

Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and align diverse teams.

In-depth knowledge of the Thai energy market and regulatory landscape.
