As we scale, we’re looking for a data-driven, highly technical growth strategist to take ownership of our digital infrastructure, optimize email marketing and automation, refine e-commerce operations, and implement data-driven strategies that accelerate growth across marketing channels.You’ll play a hybrid role—balancing technical execution and marketing strategy, ensuring seamless integrations, improving customer engagement, and supporting digital marketing initiatives.
This position is ideal for someone who is highly technical yet strategic, motivated and thrives in a DTC e-commerce environment, understands regulatory complexities in CPG is a bonus, and can work hands-on independently with automation, analytics, and campaign optimization.
Position Overview
This is a full-time, remote contractor role (40+ hours per week) for candidates within or outside the United States. Our core team operates on Pacific Time (PST), and we offer flexibility across time zones.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the VP of Marketing, primarily focusing on email marketing strategy, automation, and execution, while assisting in the optimization of other digital marketing efforts. Your work will help improve marketing workflows, refine UX/CX, and ensure marketing channels are effectively integrated and optimized.
This position does not involve agency management—your focus will be on technical execution and marketing operations support that are oriented towards growth and conversion.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Email Marketing & CRM (Klaviyo)
Own and execute email marketing campaigns, including segmentation, automation, and lifecycle flows.
Develop data-driven email strategies, optimizing deliverability, open rates, and conversions.
Monitor and improve campaign performance, running A/B tests to optimize subject lines, content, and timing.
Ensure seamless Klaviyo integration with Shopify, paid media platforms, and analytics tools.
Leverage data and behavioral triggers to personalize email flows and maximize engagement.
Marketing Automation & API Integration
Automate marketing workflows using Make.com, API integrations, and webhooks to connect Shopify, Klaviyo, and other marketing platforms.
Develop and maintain automated sequences for email campaigns and digital channels, ensuring a seamless customer journey.
Optimize data flows between systems, ensuring proper tracking, reporting, and campaign execution.
Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure smooth functionality across all marketing tools.
Web Development & E-Commerce Optimization
Manage Shopify performance, implementing custom Liquid code and integrations for marketing optimizations.
Develop and maintain e-commerce automation workflows to enhance checkout conversion, product merchandising, and personalization.
Ensure seamless connections between Shopify, Klaviyo, Google Analytics, and marketing platforms.
Optimize landing pages and checkout flows, using A/B testing and UX research to improve conversions.
Configure third-party Shopify apps and APIs to enhance marketing performance.
Campaign Execution & Optimization
Support digital marketing campaigns across email, paid media, and SEO.
Assist in setting up tracking pixels, conversion APIs, and audience retargeting strategies for paid media (Meta, TikTok, Google Ads).
Monitor campaign analytics, ensuring accurate attribution and performance tracking.
Develop strategies for lead nurturing and customer retention through email and automation.
SEO, Content & Performance Blogging
Optimize SEO within marketing campaigns, ensuring email and content assets align with best practices.
Support content and email teams in developing high-performing blog and email strategies.
Ensure best practices in technical SEO, improving organic traffic and search rankings.
Data Analytics & Performance Reporting
Use Shopify Analytics and Triple Whale to track email performance, campaign effectiveness, and customer insights.
Develop and maintain marketing dashboards to provide real-time campaign insights.
Implement event tracking, UTM structures, and attribution models to improve marketing decision-making.
Analyze customer behavior data, identifying trends to refine segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and ad targeting strategies.
Technical Skills & Experience Required
5-10 years of experience in technical email and D2C marketing and campaign execution and growth hacking, preferably in DTC e-commerce, CPG.
Expertise in Klaviyo, including segmentation, automation, and performance tracking.
Experience with Shopify development (Liquid, APIs, automation tools) and e-commerce integrations.
Basic coding experience (JavaScript, Python, or SQL) is a plus, but not required.
Familiarity with Make.com, webhooks, and API integrations for automation and data flow.
Fluent in English, with strong communication skills for remote collaboration.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with the Food & Beverage industry, particularly in regulated sub-categories like Cannabis, Alcohol, or CBD.
Strong understanding of SEO principles.
Experience scaling brands through TikTok, Meta, Google PPC, or Reddit ad campaigns.

Pay: competitive—initially hourly, with a likely transition to a monthly retainer based on performance or full time W2 role.
Schedule: Flexible, PST-based working hours with asynchronous collaboration.
