Scope of Job
We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s diverse student body as a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Marketing (non-tenure track) in the Robert C. Vackar College of Business & Entrepreneurship beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. The successful candidate will teach in the Robert C. Vackar College of Business and Entrepreneurship’s undergraduate and masters programs, conduct scholarly research, and engage in service-related activities.

The department of marketing, part of the Robert C. Vackar College of Business & Entrepreneurship, is seeking a dynamic and collegial scholar to join our team. With a significant increase in undergraduate marketing majors and the upcoming launch of our MS Marketing program in Fall 2025, this is an exciting time to join our department.
We seek a dedicated and dynamic colleague committed to student success, excellence in teaching, and preparing future business professionals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of effective classroom instruction, strong presentation skills, and expertise in quantitative and analytical methods, as well as exceptional classroom management skills.
A clinical professor will teach six to seven courses per academic year, primarily in a face-to-face format, though other delivery modes may be required. The selected candidate is also expected to maintain an active research portfolio aligned with AACSB’s Scholarly Academic standards and contribute meaningfully to student activities, department initiatives, and service at the college and university levels.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Marketing or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated record (or strong potential) of excellence in teaching. Please provide detailed evidence of student evaluations, including student comments, as part of your application package.
Potential for research scholarship sufficient to meet AACSB’s expectations for a Scholarly Academic.
Desire to work collegially with faculty from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Minimum Qualifications for Appointment as Clinical Associate Professor:

UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
