Job Summary:

Boating in DC, managed by Guest Services, Inc, is seeking part-time photographer and videographers to capture all the best things our DC boathouses and marinas have to offer. The candidate must be able to travel throughout the DC area. The work is outdoors from April through October. Evening and weekend availability is required for all applicants.

Job Description:

The Community Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating and publishing content on all media platforms including social sites, review sites and the website for our DC units. The Specialist will help achieve our monthly financial goals by creating new content that can be used on our social media and ad campaigns.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Capture pictures and videos at all our locations including our rental operations, classes, tours, and special events.
Create engaging and sharable content for social media and monthly e-blasts
Develop content marketing plan and editorial calendar
Plan and execute community initiatives and programs working in partnership with our various clients
Build marketing strategies to increase brand awareness through pubic relations and community partnerships
Collaborate with District Manager, General Managers, and on-site staff to learn more about the business and to better understand the needs and goals of our clients and guests
Work with sub-contractors as necessary to ensure successful partnerships

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor
‘s Degree in Marketing field preferred
At least three years of experience in marketing or communications preferred
Computer proficiency with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge or willingness to learn Adobe Creative Suite, MailChimp email software, Agorapulse social media management software, and WordPress
Friendly and outgoing personality with proven record of strong customer service and interpersonal skills; actively looks for ways to assist customers and coworkers
Photography, videography experience/editing
Ability to effectively organize and coordinate multiple priorities, often on deadline; ability to problem-solve
Knowledge of and/or relationships with business/hospitality/media/other organizations in Washington, DC a plus
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to sit at a desk in front of a computer for the entire workday
Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire workday, outdoors as needed (sometimes daily)
Reading and writing work-related documents in English
Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees
Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to/greater than 35 lbs or more, on occasion
Local and regional travel required, inclusive of weekends when necessary

Typical office equipment (computer, phone system, fax, copiers, scanners, among others)
