Digital Media Coordinator Jobs in Arlington, VA at Institute for Justice
The Institute for Justice is hiring a Digital Media Coordinator to join our passionate and creative Communications team. The position can be based in our headquarters in Arlington, VA, or in our Seattle, WA, or Austin, TX offices. The successful candidate will work with our dynamic Activism team to build awareness for IJ’s grassroots projects and drive social advocacy. This position is responsible for coordinating daily social media posts and digital campaigns. In this role, you will teach the public about IJ’s issue areas and mobilize support— Some of these topics include “Americans Against Qualified Immunity,” our initiative to end qualified immunity, “Beauty Not Barriers,” our initiative to reform unfair licensing laws, and “Cities Work,” our initiative to make it cheaper, faster, and simpler to start a small business.
Responsibilities:
Help us connect with the public by coordinating social media posts across various platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter (X), and Instagram
Work with the team to source captivating graphics and get approvals
Execute powerful ad campaigns that allow us to reach new audiences with our message
Coordinate email campaigns that help grassroots stakeholders stay in the fold
Share what’s working by providing regular analytics updates
Leverage writing skills and knowledge of social media best practices to ensure paid and organic content is on-brand and engaging
Keep abreast of social media trends and contribute ideas about innovative ways to deliver content online
Put the ‘social’ in ‘social media’ by responding to thoughtful comments and messages
Create simple eye-catching graphics in Canva
Help manage email lists and campaigns in Quorum
Updating website landing pages
Optimize lead generation capabilities as appropriate
Qualifications:
1-2 years social media marketing, digital marketing, or digital communications experience
Bachelor’s degree
Social media enthusiast with an interest in key performance indicators
Strong philosophical commitment to challenging government abuse
Well-organized with excellent written and oral communications skills
Thrive in a fast-pace environment, working with a diverse team of professionals
Sophisticated eye for design, a familiarity with Canva or Photoshop is a plus
