Role Summary
The Clinical Liaisons are primarily responsible for being the liaison between the provider and the pharmacy, specializing in their particular expertise of medicine (specific therapeutic line specialty). As an expert in their particular therapeutic line, the clinical liaison will provide content, summaries of evidence, and subject matter in accordance with the needs of the pharmacies and providers. They will also serve as a point of contact for the Sales and marketing teams in order to point providers to for support in a particular area of medicine. On occasion, the Clinical liaison will be responsible for education and training on their specialties to the pharmacy staff and providers by way of webinars, sound bites, podcasts, drug information write ups, and presentations. This extremely important position places the Clinical Liaison as the “expert” of RPC, in their field of expertise.
Job Activities and Responsibilities: The responsibilities listed below are subject to change.
1. General
Support Sales Team Business Development Representatives (BDRs) in providing clinical content to providers.
Produce SOEs (Summaries of Evidence) on their particular specialty/therapeutic line.
Work with the VP Clinical Services and the Marketing Director to provide content (podcasts, webinars, content for marketing) on a designated subject matter dealing with their line of expertise.
Go-to person as a subject matter expert on a given therapeutic class
Provide clinical consults for patients therapies (chart review, recommendations for therapy, and follow up as necessary).
2. Clinical Services and Education
Will serve as the Healthcare Providers’ and Therapeutic Line Specialists’ (TLS) point-of-contact and expert on clinical subject matter for their assigned therapeutic class(es).
Must be independent/self-driven in learning about a specific therapeutic class(es), including current compounding trends, best practices, proficient in dosing. Pharmacy will provide all resources necessary: conferences, primary (journal articles) and tertiary (USP, drugs, facts, and comparisons) references, other handouts, online access to literature database (PUBMED, UptoDate), APC references, IJPC listserv/references, and others as they become available. Will serve as the “go-to” person as subject matter expert on their assigned therapeutic class(es).
Must also become knowledge in OTC supplement and online supplement store.
Must be able to travel to conferences to promote/educate pharmacy services.
Provide training and education for sales team, and other pharmacy staff including pharmacists on given subject matter and supporting those teams with clinical content for providers.
Involved in “Grand Rounds Review” which will help educate other clinical liaisons on subject matter so they can effectively counsel patients and providers on therapy.
Give lectures/presentations via webinar, onsite, conferences.
Submit Summaries of Evidence (SoE) and other content to clinical educator for review
Support clinical review of new formulations
3. Provider Support
Will be the point of contact for a BDR or TLS (Therapeutic Line Specialist)
Must provide real-time support to physicians through phone consultations
Will provide dose change adjustments based upon patient reported health-outcomes
Onsite visits to pharmacy practices to assist with inventory management development aMust support sales team members through new Business development, B2B Partnership content and clinical help, and new client training. Must support in difficult or elevated questions for their respective therapeutic line(s) for sales team.
4. Therapeutic Line Specialist (TLS) and Sales Team Support
Although sales team will not report to Clinical Liaison, CL must provide detailed information on an as needed bases to support sales team’s relationships with providers and provide clinical support when necessary.
Be available for virtual calls set up by the sales team for providers
Provide training content and information as needed to the sales team which has to do with the Clinical Liaisons’ expertise area of medicine.
5. Marketing Support
The Clinical Liaison is responsible for helping (as needed) with marketing content as directed by the VP Clinical Services in support of the marketing efforts of the company. This may include (but not limited to): podcast appearances, blog content, webinar and presentation appearances or content generation, Patient information leaflet information
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Doctor of Pharmacy (preferred) BSPharm or PhD in the Sciences
Knowledge of Pharmacy industry and well-rounded knowledge of compounded preparations
Understanding of pharmacy operation and current States Pharmacy Practice laws and regulations
Understanding of Pharmacy marketing laws and regulations
Access and experience with researching clinical literature
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong background in management and strategic planning
Strong organizational competences
Excellent work ethic, including a personal drive to excel independently
Solid PC skills including Microsoft software
Experience in compounding pharmacy

Annual to twice-yearly speaking engagements/presentation regarding Women’s Health
Positive feedback (via survey) from Marketing and Sales teams regarding materials and education opportunities and resources related to Women’s Health.
Monthly education opportunities presented to the Sales/Operations Teams on Women’s Health Topics.
Physical Requirements:
Proficient in using a computer and related equipment, including printers and fax machines.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Effective communication skills via telephone and email.
Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds as needed.
