POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Marketing and Communications Specialist partners with the Marketing and Communications team colleagues in developing and executing highly engaged advertising, marketing and communication projects, including community and special events. Uses thorough knowledge of integrated brand marketing and communications strategies, along with consumer-focused events to grow both brand awareness and tailor new business opportunities to assist in meeting IHA’s strategic goals. Manages multiple marketing and communications projects and works with clinical staff, practice managers, divisional directors and physician leaders. Provides support to the Director, Marketing & Communications and other team members, as requested.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Develops marketing and communication plans to include strategies, tactics, timeline, budget and measurement tools for assigned practices and divisions.
Writes, edits, produces content and provides guidance in design/layout for corporate, division and practice marketing and communications initiatives and events.
Leads and coordinates the Marketing onboarding checklist for all new IHA providers including digital, print, photographic and promotional collateral.
Demonstrates exceptional written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external customers; identifies their needs and creates strategies to enhance the reputation, mission, vision and values of IHA.
Serves as Editor of IHA Today and patient/consumer facing eNewsletters.
Manages IHA’s external email distribution tool – Constant Contact, and in the future, Eloqua.
Understands and applies the use of Trinity Health IHA branding standards, as well as marketing programs for IHA practices.
Ensures consistent use of organization’s image throughout all communications, promotional materials and events. Responsible to maintain primary design and communication principles to establish consistency in these areas and to effectively communicate these within IHA.
In conjunction with the Director-Marketing & Communications, supports creation of marketing campaigns to position IHA Medical Group in a manner that generates new patients and enhanced market share.
Manages several external vendor relationships and serves as liaison with other outside agencies and vendors, as directed.
Participates in the IHA Marketing Committee to ensure marketing activities are developed and in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Participates in orientation and education of administrators, practice managers and office staff as it relates to IHA marketing and communications.
Provides outstanding customer service in organizing IHA events that meet the intended goals and expectations both creatively and consistently; works within time limits to plan, resource and oversee the events.
Assists with other projects and duties, as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: None

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Five years’ marketing and communications experience preferred, including project management and communication strategies. Preferred experience in medical group practices, healthcare systems or other health-related areas.

Knowledge of SEO, marketing principles and law related to position responsibilities.
Understands organization’s strengths and weaknesses; analyzes market and competition, identifies external threats and opportunities; adapts strategy to changing conditions.
Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information; collects and researches data.
Project management skills to coordinate projects and direct project team activities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently under challenging deadlines.
Sufficient knowledge of mathematics.
Proficient in operating a standard desktop and Windows-based computer system, including but not limited to, marketing software, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Outlook, intranet and computer navigation. Ability to use other software as required while performing the essential functions of the job.

Ability to travel/drive to other office/practice sites and meeting and training locations.
Successful completion of IHA competency-based program within introductory and training period.
Sufficient knowledge of medical terminology to perform responsibilities.

Must hear and speak well enough to conduct business over the telephone or face to face for long periods of time in English.

This job operates in a typical office environment which involves frequent interruptions and significant interaction with people which can be stressful at times.
