Bergens Greenhouses, Inc. produces, sells, and distributes bedding plants, annuals/perennials, foliage, mums and holiday plants. Bergens owns and operates 40 acres of greenhouse in three different facilities. We supply plants to both large and small retailers and ship our locally grown crops to the five-state area, and other places throughout the world.
We are currently looking for a “Marketing Specialist/Comparative Shopper”, an Independent Contractor position, to join our team. The ideal candidate will be friendly with great communication skills. Detail oriented person with observation skills and an eye for taking photographs, amongst the below responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Candidate will represent Instore Merchandisers/Bergens Greenhouses exclusively and assist with sales plan
Periodic visits to stores in the Wisconsin Market Area: Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, Marquette, Delaven, Plover, Appleton, etc.
Store visits include:
o Developing relationships with key store employees
Store manager, MST, Garden Center Team Leads
o Inventory checks provided by Account Manager to identify ghost inventory
o Compare OH levels on reports with actual store inventory
o Familiarity with planograms
Ensure that planograms are being followed
Report empty tables and//or over inventoried product
o Photo tour of each store location
Step by Step photo “walk-thru” with each store visit
Will be put into Dropbox
Working with the Account Manager to identify specific needs for each store visit
Comparative Shopping visits as requested throughout the season
Merchandising and Pricing Analysis- compare prices of similar products and services between our store products and competitor products
Analyze competitor pricing strategies and promotional offers
Identify areas for improvement for products
Fill out requested templates with photographs and requested additional feedback
Visit competing store locations to provide requested information about the competition
Special Projects
Prepping for walk-through with store leadership
Printing or arranging for printing of all store advertising
Label/tag printing or arranging when/if applicable
Skills and Qualifications
Strong observational skills- ability to notice details and trends with products
Analytical skills- ability to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions
Communication Skills- Ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely in written and verbal form
Attention to detail- ability to accurately record and document information
Familiarity with Retail Environment- understanding of retail operations and customer behavior
Pay starting at $17.50 an hour
