Leon Alcala, PLLC is seeking a driven, proactive, and ambitious leader to serve as our Marketing Director. The individual will be expected to develop, direct, and lead the firm’s marketing efforts through digital platforms, promotional items, and client engagement.
Leon Alcala, PLLC is a highly regarded Texas based law firm with offices in Austin, Houston, Arlington and Longview. We are a school law and governmental law firm, meaning we represent Texas public schools and other Texas governmental entities. We handle all legal matters for public school districts and governmental entities throughout Texas, including in the areas of school law, student issues, Texas Open Meetings, Texas Public Information Act, civil litigation, public finance, election law, real estate, employment law, construction law, and procurement. The firm focuses on representing public school districts across the State of Texas and is among the top firms in this area. The firm is proud of its development and client commitment and is looking for a marketing leader to develop and promote a cohesive brand identity as the firm moves into its next stages of growth and expansion.
The successful candidate will create, present, and implement our brand identity, marketing strategy, cultivate relationships with our clients, and will identify and actively pursue opportunities for firm growth.
The candidate will lead and delegate a variety of marketing and business development tasks. The candidate will manage the firm’s responses to requests for qualifications, coordinate conference attendance, attend conferences and other events on behalf of the firm, prepare and review social media posts on multiple platforms, and lead or delegate other marketing and business development matters.
This role is envisioned as a full-time in the office position. Fully remote candidates will not be considered, but a hybrid schedule may be considered for appropriate candidates.
Responsibilities:
The firm is seeking someone proactive to review existing marketing, business development, and promotional procedures and materials. The individual will then develop and present a cohesive and consistent brand identity pitch for firm approval. Once approved by the firm, the individual should ensure that all promotional/professional materials, public appearances, and social media posts are consistent with this brand identity. The individual will be responsible for identifying the most beneficial digital and social media platforms for the firm and ensuring a constant, positive firm presence on those platforms. The candidate will proactively schedule attorney conferences, trainings, and in-person appearances. They will ensure that attorneys have sufficient reminders of these events and will ensure that attorneys have all necessary promotional and marketing materials and information for them. Attorneys attending should have a clear understanding of sponsors, attendees, and clients attending in advance of the event. The Marketing Director will be responsible for coordinating all events for all members of the firm. The candidate will be provided with a list of common annual events and conferences they will manage and coordinate, but the candidate is expected to suggest and develop other beneficial event and conference opportunities. The candidate will be charged with selecting options for firm-branded clothes and promotional items and, with firm approval, ordering and distributing those materials to firm staff throughout the state. The firm is seeking a constant stream of positive marketing on social media and other online platforms that promote name recognition, engagement, and positive interaction with the firm’s brand and attorneys. The candidate should be an expert in graphic design, social media literacy, and positive brand messaging. The Marketing Director will also need to be (or quickly become) well-versed in State Bar of Texas rules for advertising as they apply to law firms in Texas and work with the firm to ensure compliance with those rules.
In addition to the foregoing, the individual will be:
Interacting with a wide variety of clients/third-parties on the phone and via email.
Overseeing marketing campaigns daily
Negotiating marketing deals/partnerships
Going in person to meet new potential client sources
Maintaining and building relationships with client sources
Coordinating and executing in-person events
Managing event logistics, promotions, and follow-up activities to maximize client engagement
Preparing regular reports on market activities and ROI
Must maintain a neat and professional appearance
Assist with calendaring reminders and deadlines for attorneys.
Assist in ensuring that all deadlines are met.
Provide a high level of administrative general functions as required.
Salary range:
$60,000 to $80,000. Salary will depend on experience and other qualifications.

PTO (10 days per year).
Generous holiday schedule. In addition to our typical holiday schedule, the firm usually (depending on client needs) closes offices in December/January for roughly 2 weeks.

Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
Prior experience working for an entity as a marketing professional charged with managing online presence, event coordinating, and promotional items/materials is required.
Some prior experience in law firms, marketing and/or experience with schools is preferred but not required
Prior experience working with school districts or other governmental entities is preferred.
Must be able to design, create, and implement marketing campaigns and materials (e.g., flyers, etc.)
Skilled in the use of software systems such as Adobe, Word, NetDocs (or other DMS), Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Proficient in software used in marketing efforts (e.g., Canva and/or other graphics software)
Must be familiar with digital marketing, SEO, social media tools, cross-posting, theories, goals, and marketing and engagement measuring tools
Knowledge of law office practices and procedures is preferred.
Ability to communicate directly, effectively, both orally and in writing, with the ability to establish good rapport with attorneys, clients, and other employees.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to carry out assignments in a timely manner.
Ability to quickly learn company policies and procedures and learn office methods and procedures.
Ability to multi-task and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
