Who We Are

The Michigan Urological Surgery Improvement Collaborative (MUSIC), established in 2011, is a physician-led quality improvement collaborative comprised of a consortium of urology practices in the state of Michigan. The collaborative is designed to evaluate and improve the quality and cost efficiency of urologic care for patients in Michigan. Participating practices submit data to a clinical registry maintained by the MUSIC Coordinating Center, and tri-annual consortium-wide meetings are held each year to discuss data, review measures of processes of care and patient outcomes, and identify strategies and best practices for quality improvement. MUSIC is funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) and managed by the MUSIC Coordinating Center, which is housed at Michigan Medicine.

Responsibilities*

The MUSIC Coordinating Center is currently looking for a highly motivated individual who will serve as an Administrative and Communications Specialist for the program. Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Develop and manage content for the MUSIC website (15%)
Manage MUSIC social media accounts (15%)
Assist in the preparation of newsletters, press releases, marketing materials, communications, etc. (20%)
Event planning including advertising, scheduling, and coordination of logistics and catering needs (10%)
Provide general administrative support such as purchasing, travel arrangements, scheduling meetings, maintaining global email lists, etc. (15%)
Assist with day-to-day operations such as Patient Reported Outcomes (PRO) coordination (10%)
Support local data registry entry and maintenance (15%)
Required Qualifications*
Must be detail-oriented and focused with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
The ability to multi-task with the propensity to adjust for changing priorities is necessary.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers including standard applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Intermediate: Bachelor’s Degree and considerable professional experience, including some in a supervisory capacity is normally required.

Associate: Bachelor’s Degree and reasonable professional experience is normally required

Modes of Work

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
