Job Overview: The Marketing & Development Director will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of Ashlie’s Embrace by leading both marketing and development efforts. This dual-focus role involves overseeing the organization’s marketing strategy and managing fundraising campaigns, ensuring alignment with our goals. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will be crucial in driving resource development, fostering donor relationships, and enhancing brand awareness through strategic marketing efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy & Execution:
Develop and execute a comprehensive development plan to meet and exceed fundraising goals.
Lead annual giving campaigns, creating targeted strategies to grow donor participation and retention.
Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of major gift donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.
Secure sponsorships for fundraising events, including an annual golf outing and gala.
Marketing Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness.
Oversee marketing campaigns to support fundraising initiatives and community engagement.
Manage digital and print collateral, ensuring consistent brand messaging across all platforms.
Grant Development & Management:
Identify and research grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission.
Write compelling grant proposals and manage the reporting process to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
Donor Engagement & Stewardship:
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with donors and prospects.
Oversee donor recognition efforts and create impactful communications to demonstrate the value of contributions.
Travel as Needed:
May require occasional travel for donor meetings, hospital visits, important dedications, and relevant conferences or conventions. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel as necessary.
Team Collaboration & Leadership:
Partner with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to identify fundraising priorities and initiatives.
Provide mentorship and guidance to volunteers or staff supporting development and marketing efforts.
Represent Ashlie’s Embrace at community events and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and engagement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications) or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of demonstrated success in development and marketing, with a strong focus on development, including annual campaigns, major gifts, and grant writing.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and connect with diverse audiences.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Google Workspace, CRMs, and fundraising platforms preferred.
Experience with key digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media management, graphic design software, and email marketing platforms, is highly desirable. Familiarity with other online communication and collaboration tools will be considered a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay range will be $70,000 – $85,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Flexible PTO and 16 paid holidays per year.
