WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Identify and Qualify New Business Opportunities
Create and work a detailed territory sales plans with monthly and quarterly campaigns to ensure you achieve your sales goal.
Stay informed about special grants and unique funding opportunities in your territory
Develop insight and understanding into the education marketplace including special program areas such as
Title I, Special Education, PreK, English Language Learners, International Baccalaureate, Dual Language, etc.
Identify competitor’s objectives, strategies, strengths, weaknesses, and response patterns. Look for opportunities to exploit weaknesses and make inroads into competitively held accounts.
Qualify prospects by conducting preliminary research to gain a working knowledge of their current practices.
Enlist the support and recommendations of managers, team members, consultants and professional organizations in establishing relationships
Move Qualified Buyers (or Established Customers) from Proposal to Purchase Order
Foster productive relationships and strengthen ties with key stakeholders.
Conduct calls and meetings to qualify the customer. Determine needs (both expressed and unexpressed), buying motivation, and purchase criteria. Listen empathetically to fully understand the prospect’s point of view and to gauge their interest
Educate the prospect. Eliminate perceived discrepancies and tailor solutions for each buyer by understanding the “why behind the buy.”
Develop and implement practical action steps to move the sale forward
Schedule showroom appointments, lead sales presentations, lend strategic or tactical support during onsite presentations.
Prepare and present final proposals
Grow Established Accounts
Execute strategic initiatives to grow key accounts
Cross-sell and up-sell products and services
Verify that buying influences within an account have not changed
Seek referrals and leads from existing customers and personal relationships.
Finalize and Close Sales
Move proposals to purchase orders
Negotiate proposal terms and conditions as directed by management.
Provide strong project leadership and follow-through to ensure that the project, product and service commitments exceed customer expectations.
Establish implementation plan for core adoptions including working cross-departmentally to schedule a PD plan and tech set-up.
Sales Administration
Provide timely and accurate monthly sales forecasts (30, 60, 90-day outlook and end of fiscal year)
Maintain records in CRM of account contact and sales activity. Track, analyze, and report results.
Become thoroughly grounded in and knowledgeable of Custom Education Solutions internal business processes to ensure the most effective, efficient, and profitable means of moving proposals and projects forward.
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:
3+ years proven sales in the IL education school market
Must have existing relationships with school district leaders
Manage territory by using CRM effectively to enter and track opportunities, contacts and campaigns
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, education
Consistently achieves goal with a high close rate on opportunities
Experience in multiple account management
Ability to establish rapport, gain trust and build relationships
Highly responsive to customer needs
Finely honed presentation skills – ability to present ideas, positions, proposals and solutions in a thoughtful yet compelling manner.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, allocate time, and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
Ability to drive statewide to attend district sales meetings and conferences with overnight travel (up to 10%)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to learn other systems and programs.
