Straz Center is currently looking for a talented individual to fill the role of Marketing Manager – Events. This is an exciting role responsible for creating, executing and managing marketing campaigns for events and performances. Our ideal candidate will have prior marketing experience in the live touring and/or entertainment industry, solid experience in media buying and the creative skills necessary to be successful within a performing arts environment.

The Straz Center for the Performing Arts, located along the beautiful Riverwalk in downtown Tampa, Florida, is one of the largest performing arts centers in the southeastern United States. The Straz boasts one of the nation’s leading Broadway series and is nationally respected for producing grand opera, as well as presenting a wide variety of concerts, performances and events.

Essential Functions:

Creates, implements and receives necessary approval (internal and external) of marketing and promotional plans for assigned projects.
Develops and identifies appropriate audiences and advertising avenues available to gain maximum return for the marketing and promotion of assigned events, productions, products and projects.
Marketing activities to include: media planning, buying and promotions, special offers, social media, production requests and execution, community partnerships and more.
Participate in audience development initiatives.
Maintain, in a fiscally responsible manner, the marketing budgets of assigned projects.
Provides effective, efficient, data-driven management of assigned events to ensure financial success.
Track and submit added-value/promo vs. paid media reports – 6 mos. and full-year.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Education, Work Experience, Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum of three years’ experience in marketing, advertising, arts discipline, live touring entertainment industry or related field.
Experience in promotions and ad planning
Experience in media buying
Highly proficient computer skills in particular Microsoft Office 365’s Outlook, Excel and Word, knowledge of PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams desired.
Effective and professional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
Availability to work occasional nights and weekends, as required for events.
