We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Marketing associate with a strong focus on email marketing to join our team in Alexandria, VA. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in executing and optimizing email campaigns to drive engagement, retention, and growth. This is an in-person role, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop compelling email strategies that align with overall marketing goals.
Core Duties:
Email Marketing Campaigns:
Develop, execute, and manage email marketing campaigns, including newsletters, promotions, and automated workflows.
Collaborate with content, design, and marketing teams to create visually appealing and engaging email content.
Ensure email templates comply with brand guidelines and are mobile-friendly.
List Management and Segmentation:
Maintain and grow email lists through segmentation strategies and best practices.
Regularly clean and update email databases to ensure deliverability and compliance with data privacy regulations.
Performance Analysis and Optimization:
Track and report on key metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions, etc.).
Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, content, and CTAs to optimize email performance.
Use analytics to refine strategies and suggest improvements to increase engagement.
Marketing Support:
Assist with other digital marketing efforts, such as social media campaigns, website updates, and content creation, as needed.
Coordinate marketing calendars to ensure timely execution of campaigns.
Compliance:
Ensure all email campaigns adhere to industry best practices and regulations (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, etc.).
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
Skills and Experience:
Strong understanding of email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, HubSpot, or similar).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for email templates (preferred).
Experience with marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, email platform reporting).
Exceptional written communication and proofreading skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Must be available to work in person at the Alexandria, VA office.
Preferred:
1-2 years of experience in email marketing or digital marketing (internships count).
Familiarity with CRM platforms and marketing automation tools.
Experience in graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
