Job Summary
The Marketing Associate Director will be responsible for working with schools on developing and executing marketing strategies to promote the schools’ programs, events, and overall brand image to parents, students, community members, and potential families. This position will work with schools on utilizing various communication channels like social media, website content, print materials, and public relations to enhance enrollment and positive perception of the school and district. The Marketing AD will oversee district wide community engagement initiatives and work to connect the branding/marketing plans of schools to learning and district initiatives. This position will be on a three year only contract from 7/1/2025 – 6/30/2028 with no expectation of continued employment after the completion of three years.
Essential Functions
Works collaboratively with the other Associate Directors, Benefits Manager, and the secretaries in the Human Resources office
Works closely with various employee associations
Serves as a resource to principals and supervisors on school marketing
Work with schools on writing newsletters, social media posts, brochures, and other marketing materials highlighting school/district achievements, upcoming events, and important information.
Assist with the creation of professional content for the school/district social media platforms.
Produce brochures and marketing information as needed.
Assist the department in marketing the district programs and local schools to the public. Assist in communicating the district’s message through video, social media or other communication forms.
Write, review and edit District information/publications that are distributed to internal and/or external audiences.
Collaborate with graphic designers to develop visually appealing marketing materials, including logos, banners, and flyers.
Work with schools to build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
Work with schools to generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or graphics) that build meaningful connections.
Planning and executing marketing campaigns for specific initiatives like enrollment drives, school events, fundraising efforts, or new program launches.
Track key metrics and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.
Monitor and analyze social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.
Stay up to date with the latest social media trends and best practices to ensure the district’s social media presence remains relevant and effective.
Work with school administrators and staff to gather information, coordinate marketing efforts at the school level, and ensure consistent messaging.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent writing and communication skills
Proficiency in digital marketing tools

Knowledge of local community and education landscape
Required Training and Education
Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field preferred.
Two years previous experience in marketing, media relations, or communications preferred.
School administrative experience preferred.
Equipment
Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copier and fax machines, and telephone. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Travel Requirements
Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Assigned Decision Making
Organizes and prioritizes own work. May assist in the work assigned to other staff members and/or interns.
Non-Supervisory Interaction
Interacts with staff and other departments in the district office, board members, school principals and secretaries, teachers, and patrons.
Budget Responsibility
Collaboratively develop program budgets with Communications Director
Working Environment
Standard office conditions. Mental pressure from the frequency of emergency situations, frequent interruptions from telephone and patron walk-ins, deadlines with meetings, reports, pay requests, etc.
Physical Demands
Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Ability to reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects. Ability to talk or hear. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to focus. Physical demands require moving and lifting supplies, equipment, etc. up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate director is regularly required to speak and/or hear. The associate director is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
The associate director must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
