As our Cultural Strategist, you will foster and share a deep understanding of cultural trends that sharpen our creative output’s strategic nature, enhancing its quality and effectiveness. An avid researcher, you’ll dive into trend reports, data, and insights to stay ahead of cultural shifts. Utilizing platforms like Reddit to glean valuable insights, you will credibly communicate how brands can authentically connect with communities and drive culture forward.

To thrive in this role, you will collaborate closely with the media team, wider strategy team, and creatives, you will adeptly bring everyone along on the journey, ensuring our strategies resonate deeply with our target audiences. You recognize that cultural trends must be rooted in human values, observable through human behaviors, and lead to clear business implications. By immersing yourself in analog and digital cultures—including fandoms and audience insights—you will help clients and creative teams craft exceptional work.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Industry Knowledge. This position requires a strong grasp of global trends and exceptional skills in unearthing deeper cultural shifts that have the scale and longevity to help brands gain a greater share of the future. You share a hunger for diving into a wide variety of industries such as entertainment, fashion, and beauty. You are a passionate advocate for the brand and take a portfolio-based approach to crafting memorable experiences.
Innovative. You will be fluent in all the necessary tools and platforms, most notably, the GMR Experience Engine (generative AI) tool that generates our creative brief, the Unforgettable Brief. This position requires the capability of prompting the Experience Engine in ways that drive provocative, unforgettable, and tension-filled audience insights. You will also develop creative ways to leverage culture to reach and influence the various customers and partners vital to our success.
Culturally Fluent. You are a curious pop culture connoisseur and can effectively translate and communicate relevant insights. You’re comfortable establishing a story arc, sharing your vision, and crafting a compelling story in written or deck format. You understand the right social channels to educate and engage consumers about our client’s products, events, and brands to help drive advocacy.
Data Centric. You possess the skills to translate research and data into effective tools driving back to the client’s objectives. You are a strategic thinker and can identify novel insights and help generate unconventional solutions to business problems.
Leadership and Collaboration. You are comfortable when others look to you for leadership, inspiration, and mentorship. You effectively build a positive culture and elevate the voice of the consumer and your colleagues. You’re passionate about fostering a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment.
Travel. Although we are a virtual-first team, you must be willing to travel for client meetings, team collaborations, event executions, and new business pitches.

The annual range for this role varies between $70,000- $90,000 and may vary depending on the candidate’s experience. Benefits for this role include health/vision/dental insurance, 401k, employee stock purchase plan, vacation, personal days and paid holiday time. You are also eligible to participate in disability, life insurance, FSA/HSA plans subject to the terms and conditions of such benefit plans.
