Position: Graduate Assistant (Athletics Communications)
The Ole Miss Athletics Communications Department is seeking one (1) graduate assistant for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years. This unique position allows for the selected candidate to gain hands-on experience in the intercollegiate sports industry while assisting Ole Miss Athletics in growing its brand and telling the stories of its student athletes. The selected candidate will serve alongside marketing and creative directors on external teams, which will develop, implement and evaluate communications and promotional plans for select sports.
Responsibilities
Serve as a media contact for at least one sport, which could include men’s or women’s golf, men’s or women’s tennis, rifle, or other sport.
Serve as secondary contact for another sport, which could include men’s or women’s basketball, softball, baseball or other sport.
Generate press releases, event recaps, feature stories and related content.
Develop, monitor and maintain consistent social media presence.
Maintain team information and content on websites and physical archives.
Produce publications, including media guides, game programs, etc.
Report information to the NCAA and SEC.
Assist in coordination of home athletics events.
Student Wages
This is a (9-12) month position that can be renewed an additional year; $1,557 per month stipend position, Graduate School scholarship to cover 100% of regular Graduate School tuition and non-resident fee. Candidate will also receive an Athletics scholarship for their capital improvement fee and an allotment for books.

Qualifications
Job contingent on admission into the Ole Miss Graduate School and the completion of a successful background check.
Candidates must be enrolled full time (9 hours) – Degree program cannot be an online program.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Strong work ethic, initiative and professionalism.
Ability and willingness to work long hours, including nights, weekends and holiday breaks.
Preferred applicants possess knowledge of basic computer applications and a willingness and ability to learn new programs.
