Graphic Designer/Marketing Coordinator Jobs in Puyallup, WA at Washington State Fair

The Washington State Fair Events Center is hiring a Graphic Designer and Coordinator to support the organization’s graphic design needs, such as printed and digital materials and video editing. Key job functions include supporting the Marketing Manager in the coordination of projects and contractor needs through design and project management. The coordinator will also manage Brandfolder, our digital asset software, for the department and organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Graphic Design

· Work with the marketing and PR departments by producing artwork for projects such as retail merchandise, digital and print advertising, billboards, social media posts, website pages, special events and entertainment collateral based on ad agency art concepts.

· Provide graphics services for all departments and Foundation, and support special projects by developing, designing, maintaining and producing forms, signs, brochures, temporary signage, posters, display material and other digital and print collaterals.

· Support the Facilities department in the creation, production, and management processes of signage and materials on grounds for all Event Center-produced events.

· Build templates and documents for staff members to maintain on their own, which may include scanning documents and photos, correcting photos, emailing images and converting image file format.

· Active member of the following staff teams: graphics team. Attend meetings, work on group projects and collaborate on team strategy.

· Collaborate with other department staff to design and format books and photo/art catalogs for web posting. Update and prepare supporting documents.

· Support the maintenance and organization of all digital assets including logos, lockups, photos, fonts, design files, video and audio media, and other digital materials.

· Use professional editing software to manipulate video footage, graphics, sound effects, and special effects. Piece together video clips to create a cohesive narrative.

Marketing Coordination

· Support the Marketing Manager in the development and maintenance of team workflow, work order processes, project management systems and best practices.

· Oversee projects sent out for printing. Track budget and time guidelines. Procure and analyze price quotes on various printing jobs.

· Support Marketing Manager and contractors with design, asset tracking and campaign needs through timeline support for the organization’s signature events.

· Manage Brandfolder, digital asset management system, through overseeing the photo archiving procedures and timelines Maintain updated photo assets and train staff on software as needed.

· Collaborate with the Marketing manager on new initiatives and trends to visually communicate consumer messaging to increase awareness and engagement with the organization’s signature events.

· Document and track signage/marketing activations for all signature events ensuring accurate set-up, tear-down and storage for the materials.

· Support the Experience Division in special projects with setup, tear-down, other staffing, and supervision.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

· Requires a bachelor’s degree with concentration in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing or related field.

· One to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

· High level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software with video editing skills.

· Project management experience and detailed record keeping experience is a plus.

· Must be highly collaborative and have the ability to work with a variety of people with varying backgrounds and experience.

· Ability to be creative, innovative, professional, organized, and attentive to detail.

· Possess the ability to be flexible and multitask on various projects in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, and able to support other’s needs.

· Exceptional communications skills, ability to trouble-shoot problems and present solutions for a variety of situations.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The pay range for this position is $28.00 to $40.00/hourly based on an assessment of knowledge, skills and

experience of the candidate offered. Employees are offered healthcare coverage options which include medical, dental, vision, long term disability insurance and are able to enroll in the Fair’s 403(b) plan. Employees accrue ten vacation days and eight sick leave days a year, which can be used once accrued. Additionally, employees enjoy fourteen paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
