Grassroots Organizer
Full-Time (Hybrid)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Establish and coordinate PP Generation Action groups at local universities and college campuses to broaden support for issues of concern to PPMM
Provide support to PPMM grassroots coalition partners. Establish new grassroots partnerships with diverse religious, business, civic, and social organizations
Plan and coordinate participation in appropriate community events to ensure PPMM presence and build positive relationships in the community including county fairs, Roe v. Wade events, tabling opportunities, recognition events, and fundraising opportunities
Recruit, train, motivate, and activate local volunteers to ensure the success and effectiveness of PPMM activities
Provide periodic training and/or educate staff and volunteers on public affairs activities such as tabling, lobbying, and additional advocacy opportunities
Participate as an active member of the Public Affairs team. Participate in Planned Parenthood Votes Nevada (PPVNV) and Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California (PPAC), as needed
Provide articles for internal and external newsletters, media releases
Adherence to affiliate policies, procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to perform the duties described above. A typical means of acquiring those abilities would be:
B.A. in a related field or equivalent
One year of relevant work and/or volunteer experience
Demonstrated knowledge of community organizing
Experience in media relations
Must be comfortable managing multiple projects and new learning opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to coordinate specific event or production projects and support personnel
Ability to relate professionally to major donors, staff, and the public; and to collaborate with diverse groups
Excellent organizational and decision-making skills (ability to initiate work and set priorities independently)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
Ability to work as a member of a team, manage multiple assignments, and retain a positive outlook under pressure
Effective writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
