This position is for our biotech client launching asset internationally.
As the Head of Operational Excellence, Europe, you will serve as a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for designing and implementing operational frameworks that drive performance, scalability, and readiness for launch. Working closely with Commercial and Medical teams across Europe, you will ensure cross-functional alignment and executional excellence in a fast-paced, build-phase environment.
This role offers the chance to shape how the company operates in Europe from day one and to make a tangible impact on patients’ lives by accelerating access to innovative therapies.
Lead the development of operational strategy and execution models to support the successful launch and scale-up across EU markets.
Partner with European and Global leadership to embed best practices across project management, governance, and process optimisation.
Act as the operational “nerve center,” ensuring tight alignment across functions and timely delivery of milestones.
Build and lead a lean, high-impact Operational Excellence team with a focus on agility, scalability, and performance.
Design and implement KPIs, dashboards, and governance structures to support transparency and accountability.
Drive continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and operational readiness across launch-critical functions.
Serve as a trusted thought partner to the SVP Europe and contribute to long-term strategic planning and scenario modelling.
Experience:
10+ years proven track record in Operational Excellence, Strategic Operations, or Commercial Excellence within biotech or specialty pharma, ideally in a European launch setting.
Deep understanding of cross-functional launch operations, with the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.
Experience in both building and scaling operations in an emerging affiliate or regional context.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including working with senior executives across functions and geographies.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and patient-centricity.
Excellent English communication skills; additional European languages a plus.
