Summary:

We currently have an opening for Director of Sales and Marketing at the The Inn at Longwood Medical. At The Inn at Longwood Medical, we’re focused on providing quality customer service to every guest because we understand the value of making each guest feel at home. From the Hotel to the Restaurant, we strive to ensure that customer satisfaction is consistent across all areas. Located in the heart of Boston’s Longwood medical and academic areas, we serve as a comfortable, convenient, and inviting destination for all Boston visitors. Our hotel, with its 155 guest rooms and 5,000 square feet of meeting/event space, is located within steps of many prominent hospital and educational institutions. The ideal candidate will be the Sales Department leader, ensuring a high level of professionalism, guest service and profitability. This role is a key position that will be responsible for proactively soliciting and managing group business in the assigned markets. Develop business leads, solicit potential clients, service existing accounts, sell all hotel facilities, target business in assigned market segment and meet and exceed sales goals for rate, occupancy, and revenue. Consistently perform our standards of service, interact with guests, clients and all hotel team members in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

Stays abreast of market and comp set trends that the hotel can capitalize on.
Execute sales and marketing activities to achieve budgeted goals.
Provide oversight of marketing, developing and driving the strategic focus on creation and distribution of exceptional marketing plans and campaigns.
Collaborate with corporate marketing on online advertising strategy utilizing strategic partners to achieve growth in website traffic, bookings and conversion
Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and to establish a leadership position in the market.
Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts, including calling on accounts, meeting clients, hosting luncheons and receptions, and meeting with on-site contacts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to achieve revenue goals and drive business growth across the entire project.
Assist in the annual budgeting plan.
Negotiate with clients and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying clients’ needs.
Enhance the hotel’s community image by actively participating in associations, events, clubs, and boards.
Manage and maintain updates and accuracy of company websites
Collaborate with Revenue Manager on E Commerce
Assume active ownership of assigned sales territory and respond to specific market needs, initiates needed action and suggests to sales leadership any necessary actions.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 2 years hotel sales leadership experience.
Independent or boutique hotel property experience highly preferred.
A 4-year college degree is preferred.
An innovative thinker and proven hospitality sales leader who has exceeded sales goals in current or previous roles.
Ability to access, understand, and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system (Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, Amadeus/Delphi and Opera Cloud and IDeaS.
Strong background in BT, social, corporate, and group sales highly preferred.
Knowledge of the travel industry, current market trends, and economic factors
Extensive skill in the development and delivery of sales presentations.
Ability to travel to trade shows (Approximately 10%)
Ideal candidate has an understanding of the MA market and experience in the Independent Sector.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
