The Marketing and Sales Privacy Team (M+S Privacy) plays a critical role in upholding that mission. We are trusted advisors to our internal marketing and sales teams, helping them understand their privacy responsibilities and partnering to ensure they can deliver business outcomes compliantly.
M+S Privacy is seeking someone with deep experience in privacy with marketing or sales experience, to drive key aspects of our privacy program. We are looking for someone who will thrive in a fast-paced environment where every day presents a new opportunity for integrating new learnings and refining approaches as we help optimize business impact compliantly. This Senior Privacy Manager, Marketing & Sales requires an understanding of privacy governance and policy, along with Microsoft’s privacy approach. They will provide privacy support and guidance to business stakeholders in the Marketing org on a wide variety of topics. They should also thrive in a complex network of interdependencies. A proven track record of building collaborative relationships and sound business planning and metrics management is key. An understanding of privacy practices in a high-tech setting is a preferred. Responsibilities
Serve as privacy manager for a designated group of business stakeholders in Marketing and/or Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS), with the goal of helping marketing and sales teams adhere to privacy requirements through consultative reviews.
Perform privacy reviews of sales and marketing activities to ensure they meet all applicable Microsoft privacy requirements.
Maintain subject matter expertise regarding all privacy developments in the direct marketing and online advertising spaces and partner with legal, business groups, and engineering groups to ensure the ongoing compliance of Microsoft’s marketing and online advertising efforts.
Deep understanding of privacy and personal data implications across the supported organization, and in applying the relevant privacy rules to business scenarios.
Evangelize Microsoft’s privacy strategy throughout supported sales and marketing teams.
Collaborate and partner with a diversity of roles from Program Managers to Execs, across our privacy team, Corporate, External & Legal Affairs (CELA), and stakeholder business groups.
Utilize our team’s tools and processes to ensure compliance with privacy and security policies and standards.
Manage, investigate, drive remediation for, and resolve privacy incidents.
Represent Marketing & Sales Privacy Program on cross-group initiatives to ensure that privacy requirements are incorporated into business requirements and processes.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Business, Engineering, Marketing, Communications or related field AND 4+ years experience in business, legal/regulatory, compliance, audit/consulting firm, business planning, marketing strategy, marketing operations
OR equivalent experience.
2+ years experience working in a privacy advisory role.
2+ years experience working with or in marketing and advertising teams.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Business, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in business, legal/regulatory, compliance, audit/consulting firm
OR Master’s Degree in Science, Business, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in business, legal/regulatory, compliance, audit/consulting firm
OR Juris Doctor (JD) Degree AND 5+ years experience in business, legal/regulatory, compliance, audit/consulting firm
OR equivalent experience.
Relevant Certification (e.g., International Organization for Standardization [ISO] Lead Auditor, International Association of Privacy Professionals [IAPP], Certified Public Accountant [CPA], Certified Information Privacy Professional [CIPP]).
Compliance IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 – $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 – $200,500 per year.
