We are seeking an Email Marketing Coordinator to join our team.
The Email Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for execution of email marketing promotions including newsletters, promotional emails, and advertising programs. This position requires a keen understanding of email set-up and deployment within a major ESP. They should also understand email marketing best practices with a focus on contact strategy for a multi-brand company. This position will also need to have a basic understanding of personalized and dynamic creative content, audience segmentation, insights and data measurements and strong problem-solving skills. The Email Operations Coordinator will work cross-functionally with the Circulation, Advertising, Audience Development, and Editorial teams to maintain, and optimize our email marketing program.
Responsibilities:
Day-to-day execution of email campaigns, including but not limited to email campaign set-up, scheduling, testing, tagging and deployment of one-time, newsletter, advertising, recurring, triggered and dynamic content-driven sales funnel campaigns.
Assist with email list segmentation and targeting based on a customer’s online and offline purchase history, website interactions and prior cross-channel engagement with the company.
Execute testing of creative, cadence, offers, and targeting for Circulation, Advertising, and Audience Development email campaigns.
Assist with the creative process to ensure timely delivery of creative assets.
Work with manager to maintain regular A/B testing plan and analyze results frequently.
Update daily/weekly/monthly reporting as needed for all e-mail and newsletter marketing efforts including campaign results, A/B testing, deliverability, open rates, click rates and other metrics.
Support implementation of improved email contact strategies across all brands and channels.
Assist in set-up of transactional and other automated email programs and enhancements such as order and shipping confirmation, abandon cart, and behavioral triggered emails.
Maintain awareness of relevant email related legislation (CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR) and best practices.
Maintain trust and support of your key customers and team. They come to you freely and often with problems, ideas, and concerns.
Establish clear and effective two-way communications with marketing managers, editors, general managers and other team members.
Follow through on assignments and provide appropriate feedback on progress to manager and internal customers.
Develop a complete understanding of both internal and external customers and strive to ensure that all email marketing activities exceed their expectations.
Understand strategies and follow-through with appropriate tactics.
Assist each brand with all facets of their email marketing programs.
Initiate communication frequently with your customers.
Take responsibility for your actions, both verbal and nonverbal.
Maintain an atmosphere within the email marketing team that challenges and encourages other staff members to identify and explore creative ways to profitably grow revenue and serve our customers.
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technology, new marketing ideas and techniques.
Continue to learn about your customers by developing a thorough understanding of the markets that relate to your assigned duties.
Understand, accept and support the company’s customer service and business philosophy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in email marketing, audience development, or a related role.
Proficiency in email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, Constant Contact).
Strong analytical skills with experience in interpreting data and making data-driven decisions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and audience engagement.
Familiarity with HTML/CSS and basic design principles is a plus..
