Position: Manager – MarCom Athletics (Assistant Director / Marketing)

Utah Valley University is looking for a dynamic Manager – Mar Com Athletics to develop and execute innovative marketing and communication strategies that drive revenue, enhance brand awareness, and elevate the game-day atmosphere. In this role, you’ll take the lead on marketing efforts for assigned athletic programs, managing game-day promotions, ticket sales initiatives, and fan engagement strategies.

You’ll also oversee digital and social media campaigns, develop creative assets, and collaborate with broadcasting teams to enhance UVU Athletics’ reach.

Beyond marketing, this position plays a key role in the student-athlete experience and community outreach, working closely with campus partners and external stakeholders to build meaningful connections. You’ll provide leadership to part-time staff and interns, evaluate marketing performance for continuous improvement, and ensure that every touchpoint aligns with UVU’s brand and mission. Summary

of Responsibilities

Responsible for the execution of strategic and innovative marketing and communication campaigns for designated intercollegiate athletic sports and programs, resulting in increased revenue generation, ticket sales, fan experience, social media/broadcasting, brand awareness, innovation/creativity, student-athlete experience, community outreach, and attendance.

Responsible for the development and enhancement of digital and social media marketing campaigns across various platforms, utilizing owned, paid, and earned media.

Foster collaborative relationships with campus stakeholders and external partners to understand specific marketing needs.

Oversee the conception, production, and implementation of creative assets for marketing campaigns.

Evaluate marketing and communication efforts, seeking ways to improve performance and increase program effectiveness.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline plus one year of staff-level experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling five years.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in sports management, sports marketing, marketing, communications, or a related field, and three years of experience in sports marketing OR any combination of higher education and sports marketing experience totaling six years.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge and experience in collegiate athletics marketing.

Strong communication and leadership skills.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software and Microsoft Suite software.

Ability to innovate and adapt marketing strategies to changing trends.
