The Role

The client is seeking a highly skilled Manager of Marketing Automation with 5+ years of experience to lead and optimize their marketing automation efforts. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing automated marketing strategies to drive customer engagement, lead generation, and revenue growth. As the leader of a small but dynamic team, the Manager of Marketing Automation will work closely with operations, sales, content, and digital marketing teams to ensure an integrated and data-driven approach.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in marketing automation platforms (the client is using Keap and ClickFunnels, and experience on these platforms is a requirement), a deep understanding of customer journeys, and a results-oriented mindset. They are looking for someone with a passion for utilizing technology to drive outcomes, understands CRM best practices, has built and managed marketing automation and tech teams, loves reporting, is extremely detail-oriented, has ninja relational data skills, and is an excellent communicator. What You’ll Be Doing

Develop, execute, and optimize automated marketing campaigns to nurture leads and increase conversions (within a team of two, this position requires some hands-on when it comes to setting up campaigns and landing pages).
Design and implement workflows, triggers, and lead scoring models in the marketing automation platform.
Oversee email marketing, SMS, and other automated communication strategies.
Create and evaluate data-driven reports that drive campaign performance and optimization.
Design, develop, and A/B test email sequences, landing pages, and automated workflows to improve engagement and performance.
Design, implement and test new landing pages in ClickFunnels as well as update existing pages as required.
Support the integration of 3rd-party tools and technologies (ClickFunnels, WebinarJam, ScheduleOnce, AppointmentCore, PlusThis, Google Analytics, Kajabi, Close.io, iTracker 360, Zapier, etc.) so that they seamlessly integrate into streamlined campaigns.
Create campaign execution and project management documents that provide a detailed overview of systems integration, steps, and timing.
Track, analyze, and provide reporting on key marketing automation metrics (open rates, CTR, conversion rates, etc.).
Implement lead scoring and segmentation strategies to enhance personalization and targeting.
Maintain data management and data cleansing best practices to ensure data integrity.
Ensure compliance with email marketing regulations (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, etc.).
Work with agencies and other vendor partners as directed on projects.
Support internal teams by troubleshooting any errors that are reported by team members.
Manage and lead your direct reports keeping them focused on the appropriate tasks.
Grow and scale your team as bandwidth and activities require.
Support leadership with the management of overall company technology platforms such as Microsoft Outlook, WordPress, Asana for project management, etc.
Work with finance and leadership to propose budgets for technology investments and staffing needs.
Forecast future automation demands based on revenue growth and customer acquisition goals.
Implement scalable marketing automation workflows to minimize the need for manual intervention.
Recommend outsourced solutions or fractional hires when full-time roles are not yet justified.
Demonstrate how marketing automation contributes to revenue growth, cost efficiency, and customer retention.
Regularly communicate to leadership how automation efforts align with quarterly and annual business objectives.
Be proactive in addressing leadership’s key concerns: ROI, scalability, compliance, and competitive advantage.
Regularly flag operational inefficiencies and propose solutions before they become critical issues.
Make a compelling case for necessary investments in tools, training, or additional team members.

Experience

5+ years of experience using Keap for marketing automation, operations, database marketing, list generation, campaign management/testing, and reporting.
2+ years of ClickFunnels experience. If you have graphic or web design experience, that is a huge plus!
2+ years leading and building a marketing automation team.
Campaign automation deployment for marketing as well as billing/finance needs.
Experience with or understanding of Close.io, ScheduleOnce, WebinarJam, AppointmentCore, and Zapier is a plus.
Developing, executing, and analyzing A/B or multivariate tests.
Advanced Excel skills.
Advanced-level Google Suite products.
Familiarity with Quality Assurance (QA) protocols and ownership of QA sign-off for deliverables.
The ideal candidate will have experience with CAN-SPAM/CASL/GDPR anti-spam laws.
WordPress, HTML, CSS, and Javascript are a plus.
Excellent analytical and project management skills.
Strong team management and communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital technologies, or relevant field.
Responsible self-starter with the ability to problem-solve and work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing needs and schedules. Cool, calm, and collected under pressure. Must possess comfort with competing and shifting priorities.
Home office with high-speed internet (minimum of 30×5 Mbps) and up-to-date computer hardware/software (purchased within the last 3 years).
