Overview
The Community Accident Advocate plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families affected by accidents and crises. This position focuses on providing guidance, resources, and advocacy to ensure that clients receive the necessary support during challenging times. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work, family law, or related fields, with a passion for helping children and families navigate complex situations.
Duties
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients seeking assistance following accidents or crises.
Conduct assessments to identify client needs and develop appropriate action plans.
Provide crisis intervention and management support to families in distress.
Collaborate with local agencies, including child protective services and behavioral health organizations, to coordinate care and resources for clients.
Advocate for children’s welfare and ensure their rights are upheld throughout the process.
Facilitate communication between families and service providers to enhance understanding and access to necessary services.
Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, progress, and outcomes.
Participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness about available resources and support systems.
Experience
Proven experience in family law or social work is preferred.
Strong conflict management skills to effectively handle sensitive situations.
Background in childcare or experience working with children is highly desirable.
Familiarity with behavioral health practices and crisis intervention strategies.
Knowledge of child welfare policies and procedures, including child protective services.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and maintain a compassionate approach.
