In 2018, we grew our KIPP community in response to a need for high-quality school options for students in Greater Miami’s Urban Core communities. That led to the creation of KIPP Miami, which currently educates more than 1,000 students in four schools, with plans to reach 5,800 students by 2025. Job DescriptionHere’s what you need to know:KIPP TEAM and Family is driving towards operating 40+ schools by 2033, serving 24,000 students. The Managing Director of Growth will play an integral role in this endeavor and will support KIPP’s growth to new regions as well as expansion in existing cities. The Managing Director will be responsible for all elements of a successful launch, including exploring new geographies for growth, conducting due diligence on potential geographies, fundraising, community support-building, future campus site selection and acquisition, and resource creation. The director will lead this work in new communities prior to the hire of a regional leadership team, and will then work alongside the new leadership team as a partner to seamlessly transfer relationships and momentum.
The starting salary range for this role is $175,000-225,000. Starting salary offers will be based on years of experience in a similar role. This is a hybrid role that will require in-person time in our schools and regions, as well as extensive travel (20-50%).
Here’s what you’ll be doing:Lead growth efforts for expansion to new regions in New Jersey and Florida:
Conduct due diligence analysis on all potential new geographies to enable informed decisions on which to pursue
Develop and execute plans for expansion
Project manage all aspects of growth plan for each new region
Work with internal teams to provide the necessary support to ensure a smooth launch
Lead efforts to secure operating agreements in each new region
Work with finance team to build feasible long-term financial models for each region
Work with real estate team to identify and vet new sites for school facilities
Shepherd internal process to secure approvals for growth; present to board of directors as necessary
Lead external advancement efforts to secure funding and build relationships to support growth:
Identify local and community stakeholders and build a coalition of support
