Description
The Creative Account Director serves as Chief of Staff for the Creative Department, running the business side of Creative and providing holistic oversight over all resource utilization, including internal and external resources. They are responsible for managing external creative agencies, working with Creative leadership to assess workload and help determine what projects will be outsourced, writing statements of work (SOWs) for external agencies, and working with agency leadership on timelines, estimates, project kickoff, and project- and scope-management within Creative. They are responsible for leading coordination between agency of record (AOR) and inter-agency teams (IAT) such as media and social media agencies, including communication, trafficking, tagging, and final RAW file delivery back to Creative. The Creative Account Director also promotes and maintains the efficiency and productivity of all Creative associates by designing and implementing process improvements that optimize Creative operations and cultivate associate knowledge and skill sets. They lead all process and equipment planning and implementation. They also lead the optimization Creative’s work processes and partners with Creative Leadership to design and implement improvements to ensure continuous alignment with department objectives and strategy, leading the ongoing onboarding, training, and development of Creative associates, and represents Creative in the development and implementation of the overall Marketing process.

Responsible for:
Managing external creative agencies. This includes writing statements of work and managing scope throughout the creative process until project completion.
Coordinating agency communication and aligning between multiple agencies.
Providing holistic oversight of Creative resource capacities, assignments, and training.
Leading development and maintenance of Creative job descriptions, PIQs, and organizational chart.
Evaluating creative processes for efficiencies in time, participants, financial impacts, and improved work product. This includes our creative processes, workflows, onboarding programs, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Designing and implementing new creative processes to improve opportunities found in process evaluations.
Partnering with the Manager, Marketing Operations to advocate for the Creative department in Marketing’s overall process and process governance.
Partnering with the Manager, Marketing Operations and Manager, Content Strategy to review and evaluate Marketing’s annual and quarterly playbook for Creative resource implications.
Contributing to Marketing annual planning, providing key inputs to planning and workload impacts to Creative’s process and workload.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, or Communications field, or equivalent experience
7 years’ experience as a Project Manager or Account Leadership position in a creative, marketing, or advertising department or agency
Knowledge of Publix marketing objectives, brand identity standards, positioning statements, and corporate strategy
Knowledge of communication channels including television, radio, environmental signage, point of purchase, out of home, digital video, social media, email, and web
Knowledge of current creative trends in the retail industry relative to each of the design/creative disciplines
Strong knowledge of creative associate resources’ skill sets, capabilities, and capacity
Exceptional project management skills
Knowledge of external creative resources and their expertise and capabilities (e.g., advertising agencies, design firms, production suppliers)
Knowledge of training and development methods and best practices for creative individuals
Knowledge of all phases of the creative development process (concept, copywriting, layout, execution)
Knowledge of creative and/or marketing departments organizational structure, roles and responsibilities, and associated work processes

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
