SUMMARY

Well-being & Equity (WE) in the World is seeking a Communications and Engagement Manager to manage the development and implementation of external digital communication for WE programs to promote WE in the World’s brand and raise awareness of services and resources available to our communities and current and potential stakeholders. This experienced-level position offers an excellent opportunity to help promote and advance an organization dedicated to advancing multigenerational wellbeing and equity while working alongside a diverse, agile, passionate creative, and exceptionally committed team. This is a virtual home-based remote position with limited travel.

We bring decades of experience and trusted relationships working with hundreds of organizations and communities around the world. We believe that expertise and the potential to create change lies among those with lived experience, not just with academics and high-ranking professionals. Our team aims to boost localized, community-led change and assist leading organizations by developing frameworks and tools, building strategic networks, and scaling solutions that improve well-being and equity over generations. We’ve helped projects all around the world, ranging from transforming systems to better support people with mental health and addictions in Delaware to prison reform in Guyana, from youth empowerment in the Gambia to generational poverty in Texas. We recently served as a lead author for the Springboard for Equitable Recovery and Resilience for the Centers for Disease Control and FEMA.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. Communications

Design and implement communication programs to support and reinforce organizational strategies and objectives
Ensures consistent messaging themes and effective content selections.
Designs consistent themes, messaging, and branding throughout all digital advertising, social media, and promotional communications.
Implements efficient processes for review and approval of digital communication materials.
Creates and plans outreach messaging that engages, supports, and partners with our communities and produces a positive impact to address well-being and equity issues through our programs.

2. Engagement

Manages the engagement pipeline and changemaker database, assuring it is up to date
Digitally engages with changemakers through all digital platforms
Engages in-person with communities and partners as needed
Keeps records of all interactions for themselves and supports the team to do the same
Networks with our communities to raise awareness of WE programs
Listens to our communities and partners to bring awareness of what they are going through to inform our communication and engagement strategy
Maintains and contributes to a database of community contacts, agencies, and services.
Supports in-person and online webinars and events

3. Project management:

Manages project deliverables and timelines.
Manages collaboration with project, engagement, and communications teams to produce clear and consistent communications and an engagement pipeline with our partners and communities via digital communication.
Assure all communications and engagement supports internal standards, values and external regulations.
Develops reports for the team related to key analytics required to support performance related to communication and engagement goals
Other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Excellent organizational and technological capabilities in communication planning, content development, and content management.
Ability to be agile, analytical, efficient, and resourceful while maintaining close attention to detail
Strong emotional quotient skills to build meaningful and productive professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders of all levels
Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills gained through community relations, outreach, and relationship management expertise.
Excellent skills in social media management, including expertise in social media tools and marketing communications.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft 360, Google Suite, Outlook, Internet, Zoom, etc.
Excellent analytical skills
Project management skills, including being detail-focused and managing towards aggressive timelines with comfort using project management software (e.g., Asana, etc.) preferred.
Able to maneuver through complex and changing political situations to achieve desired outcomes
Ability and skill to drive and achieve quality results within complex, time-constrained goals
Ability to take initiative and agency in an emergent change environment in start-up mode
Able to think about whole systems rather than optimize for one part
Ability to focus and produce in a remote environment

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
1-3+ years of relevant experience in community outreach and/or digital communication, including:
Community Organizer, Social Media Manager, Community Outreach Coordinator, Digital Marketing.
0-3+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Remote home office.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Minimal physical effort is normally required.

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Not required but may be requested less than 10%.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $66,700.00 – $91,900.00 per year
