Position Summary
BGCI is seeking a Resource Development & Marketing Manager to help expand our impact by strengthening donor relationships, increasing fundraising efforts, and advancing our mission through strategic marketing initiatives. The Resource Development & Marketing Manager will play a crucial role in implementing BGCI’s Strategic Plan by enhancing our capacity to deliver strong outcomes within a culture of learning and continuous improvement. As a key member of the development team, this individual will be the central point of contact for donors and partners, ensuring they remain connected to the impact they are making on youth in Indianapolis.
The ideal candidate will have the experience and skills necessary to build trust with colleagues at all levels and be comfortable in an outward-facing role, engaging with donors and stakeholders regularly, while also leading internal initiatives to strengthen fundraising and marketing efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, partners, and sponsors.
Develop and execute fundraising campaigns, including direct mail and online giving.
Maintain donor database and manage donor communications.
Oversee board member commitments and stakeholder newsletters.
Establish and grow a pipeline of annual and major gift donors.
Secure and track sponsorships from corporations, individuals, and community stakeholders in collaboration with the Director of Development and Marketing
Plan and execute BGCI’s signature fundraising events, including volunteer committee coordination and event logistics.
Engage volunteers, young professionals, and alumni in supporting the annual giving campaign.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
3-5 years of fundraising experience with a proven track record of securing gifts.
Strong commitment to BGCI’s mission, vision, and values.
Minimum of two (2) years of professional nonprofit fundraising experience preferred.
Strategic, analytical, and creative thinker with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
Ability to exercise independent judgment with professionalism and tact.
Curiosity and ability to understand donor motivations to align their interests with BGCI initiatives.
Experience with donor management software (e.g., Bloomerang, Salesforce) or willingness to learn.
Knowledge of the philanthropic community in Indianapolis.
Flexibility to attend early morning, evening, and weekend events as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
