The crew behind American Financial Resources (AFR) is looking for candidates for an Internal Communications Coordinator to play a vital role in fostering a strong and connected company culture at AFR. Reporting to the Head of People, this position will focus on developing and executing internal communication strategies and engagement initiatives that keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with AFR’s goals. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a passion for building community.
In this role you will
Develop and implement internal communication plans that effectively convey key messages, company updates, and initiatives to employees across all levels and locations.
Create and edit engaging content for various internal communication channels, including intranet articles, newsletters, emails, announcements, videos, and social media posts.
Oversee and maintain the company intranet, ensuring content is up-to-date, relevant, and easy to navigate. Develop and implement strategies to increase intranet usage and engagement.
Collaborate with the Head of People and other stakeholders to develop and implement employee engagement programs and events that foster a positive and inclusive work environment. This could include organizing company-wide events, recognition programs, and other initiatives.
Manage and optimize internal communication channels, including email, intranet, all-company meetings, and other platforms.
Explore and recommend new and innovative communication tools.
Track and analyze key metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communication efforts and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Develop and execute communication plans to support organizational changes and initiatives, ensuring employees understand the rationale and impact of changes.
Work closely with various departments, including People, Sales, Marketing, and Operations, to ensure consistent and effective communication across the organization.
Stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices in internal communications and employee engagement.
Collaborate with the Head of People to grow and expand this new role with additional responsibilities as time and capacity permits.
You would be great for this role if you
Have a bachelors degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
Possess 1+ years of experience in internal communications or a related role.
Have excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Have experience managing intranet platforms and other communication channels.
Have a proven ability to develop and execute effective communication plans.
Have experience in planning and executing employee engagement initiatives.
Can work independently and as part of a team.
Are highly organized and possess strong project management skills.
Have experience in the mortgage or financial services industry (a plus).
