Job Summary:

A strategic leader who oversees marketing strategies and efforts for HQ Hotels & Residences properties as well as participating in development and implementation of HQ Hotels corporate level marketing. This position also participates in Business Development efforts to secure new management contracts, assisting with building the business plans for potential new hotels. The Corporate Director of Marketing participates in operational initiatives demonstrating integrity and professionalism through assisting with planning, implementation and evaluation of all marketing activities including positioning, placement, advertising, digital media and public relations.

Essential Functions:

The Corporate Director of Marketing will be extraordinarily driven to deliver innovative, world-class campaigns that drive increased brand awareness for HQ Hotels and revenues for the properties in the HQ portfolio. This position will be responsible for assisting with the development of marketing strategies and story ideas based on culture, insights, trends, and data. The position requires a team player who projects confidence, a positive attitude, good judgement and grace under pressure; and someone who has the ability to think both creatively and strategically. This person must be able to adapt quickly to changing demands and willing to assist where necessary to ensure the properties and the company are successful.

Responsibilities / Duties:

In collaboration with property management, develop strategic marketing plans and establish annual marketing budgets through the review of competitive data, demand analysis, and market mix management.
Formulate, implement and assess the success of traditional and digital marketing, social media and public relations strategies for all new hotel openings.
Leverage sbe brands to create partnership opportunities to enhance and increase brand awareness and reach.
On-Property Experiences: Works alongside operations to develop the strategic direction of curated on-property experiences and activations. Including development of in-house merchandising to promote the engagement of these experiences and activations as well as any necessary support to execute the experiences and activations.
Assist properties with placement of online advertisements, development of creative for email advertising campaigns, posting on social media, executing direct mail campaigns.
Assist with all property photo shoots to ensure proper staging and complete list of shots required.
Review all hotel website layouts, photography, promotional offers to ensure maximum capture of revenue.
Market Research: conducts market-level research, such as SWOT analysis, competitive set studies, and paid marketing surveys to test current and/or new service levels and product concepts.
For hotel and partner properties, cultivate and manage partner relationships for effective collaboration in developing and implementing marketing and public relations strategies and campaigns.
Drive marketing initiatives with the specific objective of increasing sales in, and customer traffic to, the HQ Hotels brand and hotel operations.
Provide direction to public relations team members in their coordination and review of public relation plans developed internally and externally on all projects.
Implement strategy as it pertains to social media channels, social media marketing plans, social media consultants and creates engagement plans and opportunities for growth for the properties and the brand.
Aid in new business development via participation in pitch meetings, brainstorms, idea generation, staffing discussions, creating decks in response to HMA RFP’s.
Assist in sourcing vendors, including creation of RFP’s as needed, for advertising, photography, social media, public relations.
Work closing with sbe brand/marketing team to ensure hotel marketing/advertising complies with sbe brand standards as it relates to HQ, DRG and EE marketing at the hotels.

Requirements:

Must be able to provide documentation that shows you are authorized to work in the United States.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in the lifestyle hospitality marketing field.
It is the employee’s responsibility to secure and maintain current status of all required certificates, licenses, or registrations when required by local, state, or federal government agencies.
Must have the ability to speak, read, write, and interpret business documents in the English language.
This position will require travel nationally and/or internationally to multiple hotels, as needed. Must have a passport that allows for international travel. Must be able to travel to hotels for extended periods of time with very short notice.
