Bass Coast is a thoughtfully curated boutique electronic music and art festival held in Merritt, B.C., on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Nlaka’pamux and Syilx people. Moving into its 17th year, Bass Coast is an independent and artist-owned festival with accolades that include two consecutive wins of DJ Mag’s ‘Best Boutique Festival in North America’. Bass Coast operates without sponsorship and is committed to upholding its founding ethical values, ethos, and environmental commitments.

Bass Coast is seeking an experienced andinnovativeMarketing Director with a deep understanding of the underground electronic music and art culture that is showcased at Bass Coast. This role reports to and works closely with the Art Director and the Music Director to communicate the ethos of the festival through all marketing avenues.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience inteam leadershipandstrategic planning, coupled with a well-developedartistic visionand a deep passion for electronic music events and culture. They will be adept at identifying and engaging both core and emerging audiences while delivering creative marketing campaigns that resonate across platforms.

The Marketing Director is responsible for developing comprehensive, data-driven marketing strategies to elevate Bass Coast across multiple social media platforms, print media, website strategies, ad campaigns and other creative outlets. They will manage the marketing budget, lead a talented team of five, collaborate with various stakeholders and develop and execute a marketing strategy that resonates with our target audience.

HOURS AND COMPENSATION

Contract Duration:
This is a part-time, permanent position withflexible hoursrequiring on average 10-20 hours/week.

The successful candidate must be available to be on the festival site in Merritt, BC with full time hours between July 8 to July 15.

Compensation: $28-38 / hour based on experience and qualifications.

All Bass Coast employees work remotely and are required to have their own computer, printer, file storage and workspace (whether at home or elsewhere). The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and work remotely with team members. In-person meetings may be required.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Marketing:Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to increase ticket sales, enhance attendee engagement, and maximize brand exposure. Incorporate current techniques and trends in festival and event marketing, ensuring an effective multichannel approach.

Creative Marketing Campaigns:Conceptualize and executeinnovativemarketing campaigns that reflect the grassroots culture of the festival and attractdiverseaudiences. These campaigns should engage both loyal attendees and new audiences, with a strong focus on digital platforms and social media, as well as non-traditional marketing channels.

Team Management:Recruit, lead and inspire a team of marketing and creative professionals, including the social media manager, graphic design team, media manager, street team manager and a content creator; fostering acollaborativeand productive environment that encouragesinnovationand high performance.
