Discovery Charter School is a cutting-edge charter middle and high school just north of Durham, NC seeking qualified middle and high school teachers.
Discovery offers a unique and exciting Education Plan to help meet all students where they are and grow their individual talents and interests. Using an exciting, student-driven STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) curriculum, Discovery aims to grow student creativity, curiosity, and collaboration during the formative middle and high school years. Discovery features a high-tech learning environment including 1:1 student computers, 3D printers, and a virtual reality lab, as well as a highly personalized learning environment including standing desks and soft seating. Discovery will also offer a one-of-a-kind Passion Learning Time allowing students dedicated and structured time each day to grow their individual passions. Real-world experiences are essential to Discovery’s mission, and as such field trips and guest speakers occur frequently.
The Adobe Visual Design teacher at Discovery is dedicated to inspiring students in the exciting realms of technology and innovation. The teacher in this position will teach Adobe Visual Design I & II, and provides students with hands-on experience in digital design, photography, video editing, and multimedia production using Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Adobe Express. These courses focus on real-world projects, creative problem-solving, and industry-standard workflows, preparing students for future careers in design, marketing, and media production.
While Adobe Visual Design I introduces students to the fundamentals of design and digital media, Adobe Visual Design II builds on those skills with advanced techniques, portfolio development, and preparation for Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) certification in one of the Adobe programs.
The right person for this position will be highly flexible, dedicated, energetic, able to work well both individually and in groups, have strong communication skills (written and verbal), have a passion for children, and be able to think creatively out-of-the-box.
-Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Express).
-Teaching experience in digital media, design, or video production.
-Industry knowledge in marketing, content creation, photography, or video production.
-Strong communication skills to engage and mentor students.

– Must have a passion for early high school students
– A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred but not required
