We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented content writers who embody supporting transgender & non-binary people through their gender journey. This role requires exceptional writing skills and a deep understanding and commitment to gender-affirming care.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop clear, concise, and compassionate written content for website, digital, and print materials, including patient communications, educational resources, and marketing materials.
Write and revise articles for our website on the following topics: surgical eligibility/candidacy, pre-surgical requirements, surgical techniques, surgical recovery, surgical revisions and more. Please note that writers will be briefed on medical information. We are looking for candidates that can translate dry, medical copy into text that centers on patient need and experience.
Ensure all content reflects a gender-affirming and inclusive perspective, adhering to best practices for respecting gender identities.
Collaborate with medical staff, other marketers and leadership to ensure the team is create content that aligns with our practice’s mission and values.
As knowledge of gender-affirming surgery advances, writers will be expected to assist in developing patient-facing materials for the clinical team, the development of copy for social media posts, press releases, and other educational material for patients.
Stay updated with the latest research, terminology, and practices in gender-affirming care to ensure all content is accurate, respectful, and up-to-date.
Be able to understand an occasionally perform keyword analytics and research on a variety of different topics, with the back ground to adjust to any search engine algorithm changes.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of strong writing and editing skills and proven ability to craft impactful content.
Must be gender competent.
A deep understanding of gender-affirming care practices and the unique challenges faced by transgender and non-binary communities.
Experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively and foster an inclusive work environment.
A commitment to creating materials empowering and uplifting transgender and non-binary communities.
The ability to distinguish and create ‘human first’ written content.
Previous experience with SEO and content management tools is a plus.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $34.00 – $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
