Mosaic Hotel Collection, part of Palisades Hospitality, is seeking an Area Director of Sales & Marketing. While time invested at our other wine country properties is integrated in this role, the main priority and employment base will be The Elene, our newest location currently underway in Napa Valley. Time spent at the home office in Mill Valley, CA will be required.

JOB SUMMARY
The Area Director of Sales & Marketing will serve as a key member of The Elene’s Executive Committee, dedicating 80% of their focus to launching and establishing this flagship property in Napa Valley. While serving as the strategic commercial leader for Mosaic Collection’s Wine Country portfolio, this role’s primary accountability will be developing and executing revenue strategies for The Elene across rooms, food & beverage, spa, and events. The position is responsible for positioning The Elene as the premier luxury destination in Wine Country through sophisticated market positioning, revenue optimization, and distribution strategies. The remaining portfolio oversight includes brand alignment, group and commercial strategy for select Mosaic Collection properties in the Wine Country region, ensuring each maintains its unique market position while benefiting from portfolio synergies. The role also serves as a strategic mentor to Palisades Collective’s restaurant sales managers, providing guidance and best practices on a quarterly basis and as needed to enhance food and beverage revenue performance across the portfolio. Position requires flexibility in scheduling to accommodate market demands and special events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties include although are not limited to:
Primary Focus – The Elene (80% of Role):
Develop and execute the pre-opening sales and marketing strategy for The Elene, working in close collaboration with the VP of Marketing to establish its position in the luxury market while building awareness and demand
Create and implement strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve targeted objectives across all revenue streams, with particular emphasis on rooms, events, F&B, and spa
Develop and manage property-level sales and marketing operating budgets, ensuring effective control of marketing results and taking corrective action to guarantee objectives are met within designated budgets
Direct all property-level sales activities including market segment strategy, deployment, and team development
Oversee market research initiatives and competitive analysis specific to Napa Valley luxury market, adjusting strategies to meet changing market conditions
Establish and maintain relationships with key luxury travel consortia, corporate accounts, and wine industry partners specific to The Elene
Lead the property’s revenue optimization strategies across all channels, maximizing total resort profitability
Prepare and present detailed marketing activity reports to The Elene’s executive committee and corporate leadership
Monitor and analyze sales performance against programs, quotas, and plans to determine effectiveness
Meet with key clients and assist sales representatives in maintaining relationships and negotiating significant contracts
Maintain and grow a personal book of business with key luxury accounts, including high-end corporate groups, luxury travel advisors, and premier wine industry partners, with a specific revenue target to be determined
Actively sell and close business for The Elene while modeling sales excellence for the team
Portfolio Responsibilities (20% of Role):
Provide strategic oversight of Wine Country properties’ sales efforts, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives
Support the VP of Marketing in maintaining consistent brand image and positioning across all Wine Country properties
Guide portfolio-wide sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly
Direct market channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution strategies across the region
Represent Mosaic Collection at industry events and trade associations to promote the Wine Country portfolio
Provide strategic mentorship to Palisades Collective restaurant sales managers through quarterly reviews and on-demand consultation
Lead best practice-sharing sessions focused on:
Restaurant revenue optimization and innovative F&B marketing approaches
Local market penetration strategies and grassroots marketing initiatives
Community engagement and relationship building
Cross-property collaboration opportunities for enhanced market presence
Integration of local food and wine experiences into marketing strategies
Marketing Collaboration:
Partner with VP of Marketing to:
Serve as the on-site marketing contact responsible for communicating closely with social media and graphic design partners
Attend marketing-centric meetings and events held by local Visitor’s Bureau
Plan and oversee promotional activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail
Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategies
Establish and maintain consistent brand image throughout all marketing materials and events
Guide preparation of marketing activity reports for executive management
Analyze market research and adjust marketing strategies accordingly
Direct marketing training programs and initiatives
Review and approve property-level marketing materials and campaigns
Develop and implement grassroots marketing playbooks that can be adapted across properties
Create frameworks for local market penetration and community engagement
Establish metrics for measuring success of local marketing initiatives
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position. Work conditions in certain areas of the hotel/restaurant can be hot, cold, wet, slippery and/or noisy.
Position requires ability to work in an office environment for extended periods, including computer work and presentations. Frequent travel between properties within the Wine Country region, conducting property tours and meetings and ability to participate in events and client entertainment activities is also required. Frequent walking, including climbing up and down stairs are required. Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, lift, twist, kneel, crouch, crawl, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as needed, sometimes for extended periods, and to occasionally lift and carry heavy items up to 25 pounds (may be aided). Ability to see, talk and hear.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Four year college degree or equivalent education/experience
Minimum 5 years sales experience in a related position in luxury hotel sales environment
Knowledge of 4-5 star luxury properties
Ability to periodically travel to clients throughout the United States and Internationally
Ability to periodically travel to tradeshows and media events
