Job Purpose: The Communications and Content Specialist spotlights ASRM’s programs and initiatives through strategic and cohesive multi-media content creation, as well as performs duties critical to the success of the department and organization as a whole.

Key Responsibilities:
· Responsible for timely execution all ASRM newsletters, including editorial planning, writing, coordination of internal and external contributions, design, and distribution
· Responsible for developing and maintaining ASRM blog pages, including content planning, writing, coordination of internal and external contributions, and posting
· Ensures content visibility by using appropriate taxonomy and metadata to ensure SEO and promoting content via advertising and social media channels
· In accordance with education content calendar and marketing plans, creates and maintains a communications calendar, which serves as a tool for planning and continuity
· Works with marketing personnel to create content that furthers marketing goals
· Works with contributors and contractors to produce video that promotes ASRM’s programs and initiatives
· Authors and posts special member content, such as member spotlights and obituaries
· Creates and maintains an ASRM style guide and enforces adherence to style and branding guidelines in outgoing communications
· Coordinates communication initiatives for the ASRM Annual Congress
· Serves as a backup for other team members in the department
· Generates, posts, and reviews content housed on ASRM websites as needed
· Attends the ASRM Annual Congress and performs functions as assigned
· Proofs and edits content created by other ASRM staff
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Director of Marketing and Communications
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in journalism, communications, or a related field
· Two or more years of experience in journalism, news writing, or content creation, with demonstrated skills in writing online in-depth feature stories on people and events
· Willingness to meet with and interview subjects to discover new information that will enhance content
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong technical skills, including a high proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; email marketing and Adobe Creative Suite proficiency preferred
· Graphic design, copywriting, and video editing skills a plus
· Strong proofing skills with attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to work effectively and independently as well as in a team environment
· Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at the same time

Job Context: Office Setting, no environmental or job hazards; moderate travel required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,815.00 – $66,504.00 per year
