What will I be doing in this role?
As a member of the Service Line Marketing team, the Associate Director, Marketing is a key member of the team responsible for setting the overall marketing strategy for Cedars-Sinai. The AD, Marketing will be tasked with developing and executing marketing objectives, strategies, and tactics for assigned departments, institutes and/or established priority areas to drive growth for the organization. Collaborates cross-functionally with internal partners to enable consistent application of the Cedars-Sinai brand and ensures seamless utilization of clinical content across channels. Establishes metrics and goals/success criteria and landmarks that align with organizational goals and measures the effectiveness of marketing plans.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develops a complex marketing strategy and manages the ongoing implementation of fact based, goal focused, measurable marketing programs which are consistent with Cedars-Sinai’s strategic vision to produce a return on investment (ROI) for designated service lines.
Collaborates with business unit executives, councils, and/or physicians and other identified departments to achieve marketing objectives. Provides strategic direction, leadership and motivation ensuring that all parties work together to achieve the bottom-line measured results.
Provides guidance for and/or resolves complex problems or conflicts.
Initiates and directs the annual marketing planning for designated service lines by reviewing demographic, socioeconomic, competitive, competitor position and other internal/external forces affecting continued business success.
Develops and manages complex short- and long-term marketing objectives to capitalize on identified opportunities.
In coordination with the Marketing and Communications Directors and VP, guides development and placement of internal communications, research, web content, collateral, advertising, PR, and call center initiatives related to designated service lines.
Ensures that marketing initiatives are tracked and measured in order to monitor their effectiveness. Reports outcomes to senior management.
Clinical service line marketing subject matter expert and resource for others.
This role oversees marketing, brand and promotional efforts of Cedars-Sinai’s Women’s Health and Guerin Children’s. Develops and executes strategies and tactics that are integrated, measurable, and consistently convey Cedars-Sinai’s commitment to these service lines through strategic initiatives that meet established goals:
Creates and executes project work plans to lead multiple projects simultaneously for Women’s Health and Guerin Children’s. Independently manages timelines, tasks and team members to develop and implement projects that extend across Cedars-Sinai. Manages promotion, digital presence, publication content and other similar items.
Develops and implements strategic marketing goals, strategies, and tactics for defined markets. Identifies marketing goals and objectives and develops strategic roadmap to achieve desired results for target stakeholders.
Collaborates, and some occasions, facilitates the development of the following key tactical initiatives: e-newsletters, social media, traditional and digital advertising, webinars, virtual town halls, consumer research and others.
Serves as marketing liaison to key clients and leaders, both internal and external, to provide guidance on and alignment of specific business unit goals to ensure integration of marketing and communications activities in support of achievement of those goals in an efficient and effective manner.
Analyzes market trends, consumer behavior, and stakeholder feedback to inform decision-making and continuously enhance marketing approaches for effectively communicating the value and impact of the services we provide to target audiences.
Establishes and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives, and regularly analyzing results to refine strategies and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field is required. Master’s degree preferred.
A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive marketing experience at a large, complex hospital is required. Experience at an academic medical center is preferred.
Experience/Skills we are seeking:
Solid project management, analytic and organizational skills: able to coordinate multiple complex projects with varied scope and impact simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to create and use Excel spreadsheets for data tracking and analysis.
Ability to identify problems and resourcefulness to resolve them independently wing own initiative.
Ability to multi-task within short timelines, organize and prioritize work and complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively with staff members at all levels of the organization as well as with external partners.
Must be highly organized, patient, persistent and require minimal supervision in executing assigned tasks.
