Duties/Responsibilities:
Build relationships with current and potential customers
Visit and develop trust with existing customers
Identify and build relationships with new targets within agriculture retailer sector and beyond
Foster strong professional relationships with agronomy teams
Understand and align opportunities with corporate culture and goals of current and potential customers
Utilize a CRM to document visits and maintain sales information
Manage agronomy social media strategy
Organize and coordinate trade show presence
Attend and professionally represent Rock River Laboratory brand at tradeshows and events
Generate content ideas and develop into an agronomic marketing strategy
Pen popular press/industry media content
Maintain a pulse on agronomy industry news and trends to convert to actionable opportunities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional writing and editing abilities, including understanding and use of AP style
Excellent customer service skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite as well as parallel Google apps
Proficient with the use of social media platforms – specifically Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube
Ability to compile, analyze, and communicate data
Organized and detail-oriented
Passion for and/or experience in the agriculture industry – preferably the agronomic sector
Excellent interpersonal skills
Understanding of current marketing content and social media trends
Self-starter; desire to learn and contribute
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in soil science, agronomy, or related field required; experience within marketing, communications, or journalism preferred.
Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, word processing software, spreadsheet software, web tools, email, and common internet software
Personal relationships developed within the Midwestern agronomy industry
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Work Type:
Full Time
This position requires at least 2 days a week onsite at Rock River Laboratory headquarters in Watertown, Wis.
Some travel required within the US.
The agronomic marketing and outreach specialist will help develop and distribute branding messages and key agronomic content, while connecting with key clientele regarding the company’s services.
